Pleasantly surprised at a convenience store . . .

I made my 1st DIY order yesterday, but that's still days away and I was just nearly out of juice. Instead of going all the way to the B&M I decided to just stop at a convenience store that I kno carried e-cigs and the like. They had about 6 name-brands of e-juice all priced at $7.99. I thought they were 10 mL but the bottle I got was 12 mL, which is actually a better deal than the B&M. A few flavors caught my eye, but when I saw Blackberry, I had to go w/ it. I had some wild bushes growing in my backyard this past summer and I love the flavor of them. Anyway the brand I got is called Blue Star, and I think it's a very good interpretation of blackberry. It's flavorful but not too sweet, and captures just the right amount of sourness - I'll have no problem all day vaping this til my DIY stuff comes in. When I 1st thought of getting juice pre-made at a convenience store I thought it'd be a bad idea, but now that I kno about steeping, it seems like it could potentially be a good idea. I have no complaints at all w/ this purchase.

Yea that's the Blue Star, same logo and nice label on the bottle. Everything in there was definitely steeped and this juice has a pale orange/pinkish color. It's definitely thicker than the stuff I was getting from the B&M so I assume it's higher in VG, but it's definitely a nice vape. I had only tried juice from that 1 place up to this point, and this guy had tons of flavors of different brands. Cherry / Vanilla was another 1 that caught my eye, but now that I got my DIY stuff on the way I wanna start making my own product.

This place isn't like your typical chain convenience store, it's privately owned and almost a bit of a head shop. The guy has always sold bongs/pipes in there, and back when I was making my own cigarettes w/ a crank machine, he had all the supplies in there for that stuff. It sucks that at most little stores you're only gonna see the Blu type ecigs, but this guy over there knew what was up. I was in the mall yesterday and was surprised to see an e-cig kiosk. I stopped to check it out real quick, and the guy wanted $15 for 15 mL of juice. I told him that was sky high but we still had a quick little chat, about the legality aspects and such.

A lot of places now carry bottles of e juice. It blew up overnight here in Chicago.. In feb 13' I searched the whole city for a bottle of juice and found two out in the boonies places. Then just two months later B&M's everywhere now even in local gas stations and small shops like white hen or 7/11 now carry e juice. So cool seeing it all drop and run...

I really am enjoying this Blackberry flavor tho, and it seems like I can taste the difference of an established company. I thought the juice was decent at the local B&M, but it was some guy making them to order behind the counter, and there really wasn't any consistency. I'd gotten the same flavor on different occasions, and they tasted noticeably different which I have an issue with. But w/ this Blue Star juice, it's like there's a complexity to the flavoring w/ different layers and a pleasant aftertaste, and it's quality stuff for sure.

Things are changing. When I first started vaping there were only a few convenience stores that had e-cigs and they were all the the two piece cartridge type. If you were lucky you could get them to work for a while. Now almost all of them carry several brads and types and they are much better in every way than they used to be.

lol next time I go in I wanna take a hi-res pic of the display case, cuz there's easily a good 50 flavors in there. I'm no good when put on the spot like that w/ a ton of choices.

that's how i felt at my local b&m when i got my starter kit. i knew if i tried more than 3 flavors, i'd be there all day figuring out which one i wanted while my friend contemplates leaving me at the store.

A local discount cigarette store is now carrying a pretty impressive array of disposables, I asked the counter guy if they were going to get into the PV gear, after showing him my ProTank and spinner, and he was definitely curious. He said cig sales were way down, they need to do something to replace the sales. They tried getting into pipes and cigars and switchblades and all that crap (you know, THAT kind of store), but none of it sells. I was impressed with their new massive selection of incense, tho. :)

The juice may hit 7-11 eventually, one of the bigger companies will make a deal with them.

The vendors were bound to figure it out, and get manufacturing on a scale to support that kind of thing. Buck Naked seems to have gotten into a lot of small smoke shops and convenience store, it's a shame, because their gear is crap.

People sell things that sell. Ecigs are a new market, it takes a while to saturate. The next couple of years will be exciting, as you see it creep into new venues and vendors. If things go well, 5 years from now it will be a common thing to see Kanger and Provari being sold at Costco, and juices and gear at 7-11.

I have a couple ideas I'm playing with, regarding this.

This Blue Star blackberry has all day vape potential for my taste, but being the 1st what I'd call thick juice I'm vaping, I now understand how these top-coil clearomizers can gunk up. I've been thru a tank on my CE4, and the draw is already a little tighter. All the other juice I vaped was definitely high percentage PG and thin, and I literally never had an issue w/ this. I dry-burned once for the hell of it, but not out of necessity at all, they just never gunked up. But this juice right here I'd guess is probably 50/50. Right after filling the clearo, I can see the difference in viscosity by the way it clings to the walls, slow to flow to the bottom. I do like the vape tho, I guess I would say there's more vapor production than what I'm used to. I'll definitely have a nice amount of this to hold on to tho after grabbing 12 mL of it. I just tracked my DIY order and it should be here on Friday, so I can't wait for that!

I think this is the first positive post of buying vape supplies in a convenience store. I'm glad your happy with it. Times are changing.

Nobody around my area carried anything beyond the cig-a-likes; I took a different way home a few days ago and noticed that one of the local stop and robs had a sign out front advertising vaping supplies. I have to stop in and check it out!
