I'm a man of VAPE and (no) flame...

I just wrote an entire post but received an error message because the post included a link. Lost the whole thing. Annoying. Therefore, I will make it brief. Actually, I was trying to add a post to another thread but apparently I need "posting privileges".

I've been vaping for just two months now. Was an on again/off again smoker, but for the past 8 years (when I did smoke) it was only 5 lights/day. Like clockwork. Overall, I am pleased with the vaping and haven't had a cigarette since a few days after I began. Pros and cons to each, but considering the very serious cons to smoking, vaping is more than good enough. it's been a fun journey so far and I look forward to enjoying it more in the future.

I purchased an itaste vv/vw v3 kit. I'm pleased with the battery. Fine for a beginner. The iclear16's are ok, but I found the taste and vapor production lacking. Was fine to cut my vaping teeth on, but I just got a protank mini 2 and have done my first few cotton rebuilds. (That's what I wanted to post about). Next I will be ordering an IGO-S RDA and a few cartomizers to try out (for the portability), and will go from there. Probably a badazz "mod" in the not too distant future.

I've wasted quite a bit of money unnecessarily. If I knew then what I know now, I would have done it differently. That's typical when you get into something new. I wish there was a decent local B&M vape shop nearby (Montreal), but from what I have seen, they are ridiculously expensive and lacking in product selection, inventory, etc. It's frustrating when you just want one small item (like 28 kanthal). The problem with the online resellers is the shipping charges (and the wait). Those $10 shipping charges really add up for small orders.

I've yet to discover a flavour of juice that I really love. I like 555 and RY4 Double, but given how they are so different from vendor to vendor (or even between batches with the same vendor) - who knows? I don't like the fruit juices that I have tried. Tried the menthols - nice once in awhile, but that's all. I need to give the coffees, baked, and mixes a try. So many juices...so little time. Looking forward to getting the dripper so I can easily sample different flavours.

Would like to thank the operators and posters of this forum for providing me with a lot of information while doing my research both before I jumped into vaping and in the two months since.

Welcome to the forum. If you keep posting here in the newcomers forum, you will have your 5 posts in no time, and can then post other places.:)

Thank you. Wasn't sure how many I needed. I understand that they want to cut down on trouble-makers (spam, whatever).

It's just that I built a PERFECT microcoil today on my mini PT2 (yesterday was my very first attempt at rebuilding...and am giddy like a schoolchild about it. heheh.

Welcome to ECF! I found myself wasting a lot of money too when I first started vaping.

If you're looking for kanthal ebay.ca might be a good place for it, I've bought some from a few US sellers and the prices are reasonable and most offer free shipping. I did a quick search on the Canadian site and saw similar results. If you did find any B&M stores near you, I'd avoid buying kanthal there, it'll be more expensive.

Welcome, SVG. I got an iTaste too, though it wasn't my first; I started with an eRoll to give me the familiar size/shape, but went to the iTaste pretty quickly. I was also a fairly light smoker, though a bit heavier than you, maybe 15 a day just before I started vaping regularly, and I also had a hard time finding an e-juice I really liked. What kind of cigarettes did you like best? That might be a way to try and identify a taste that suits you. Obviously you've discovered that vaping tastes very different from smoking, but the one I finally found reminded me *powerfully* of the Virginia Slims I smoked, until I finally realized it was actually a lot better tasting. :D

I'm also looking forward to getting a dripper, probably next month; filling a tank at least half-full just to taste a new juice is getting really old! :D I didn't care for those iClear16s at all; I ended up getting a kanger T3S at a local B&M, liked it so much I ordered another. Then got an ARO pyrex for those juices that destroy plastic. I definitely prefer bottom coils!

I'm with you on the bottom coils, Andria. I got a free iClear 30 with my MVP 2 and thought I was really moving into the big town! I found that I did not like it at all! I have a couple of ARO pyrex that work very well, thank you very much.:)

Yeah they do vape very nicely, although, since I use mine first thing in the morning with a cinnamon-clove-apple mix I made, that steel mouthpiece is COLD! I have to wrap my hand around it for a couple minutes, or that first hit is like sucking an ice cube! :D

I'll have another great juice to use in it soon; ordered 'Constant Comment' today from high desert vapes; with orange, cinnamon, and clove, I was really glad that I already have a pyrex to put it in! :D

As for those iClear16 clearos... no idea what to do with them. I'm certainly never going to use them, at least, not with my regular Virginia; the extreme heat just destroyed the flavor of that juice, and it's my favorite! So, 4 of the original 5 are still in the box they came in.

Welcome to the forum. I am so glad to see another Stones fan on board.

Yeah? "...and I was so pleased to be informed of that, I ran 20 redlights in His honor! Thank ya, Jesus, thank ya lord!" Best lyric ever, IMO. :D Along with "American girls... want everything in the world you can possibly imagine!"

Yeah it's safe to say that Some Girls is my fave of theirs. ;)

Hi

Yeah, I know some people think it's a pain but that restriction to the New Members forum for first posts is the only sane way to filter out SPAM on a board as big as this. In case you haven't found this yet: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-information/78262-new-members-how-many-posts-do-i-need.html

When you get your five posts in then you have to... wait. The system updates that permission info on accounts hourly at 25 minutes past the hour.

Welcome! :)

Thanks. I bought my 32g from lightningvapes from an ad on ebay. Was $5 for 100 feet of wire - but $8 for the shipping! If I buy it locally - it's even more expensive. The problem is always the shipping costs. Americans may not realize that when it says "free shipping" that it's ONLY for the USA. (Unless you buy from FT / China, in which case shipping is usually free, but it takes a long time to arrive and it's pot luck in terms of the items you order vs. what you get). It's not the vendor's fault. They aren't profiting much or at all on the shipping. Was the same thing with the swisspers organic cotton balls. Finally found some on amazon dot ca. They cost just $3.45, but the shipping was $6! About $10 for a bag of cottonballs. Nuts, eh? An American will just walk into walmart or cvs and buy a bag for a few dollars. We can't get stuff like that in our big box stores - selection is lousy.

I like the cinnamon flavors myself. Be careful with the coffee, I've tried several and they all seem to taste like 2 or 3 day old burnt coffee to me. Not good at all. As for the fruit flavors try mixing a little fruit with one of your tobacco flavors makes for a nice change. Also I add the cinnamon to some of the fruits and even mixed it with menthol flavor. One of my favorites is a flavor called black ice it's licorice and menthol, kind of reminds me of nyquil. or shots of uzo while smoking a menthol cig. very good change of pace

To me the coffee flavors just taste like pipe smoke! Everytime I ever smelled a pipe, it smelled like coffee to me. :D

Good ideas. Thank you. I don't drink coffee (ever)...so if you're telling me they taste even worse than coffee - no thank you! lol.

It's unfortunate that we have to buy samples (or larger sizes) just to test a flavor. It becomes very expensive. They should have ejuice bars, just like they have with wine. Insert your own drip tip, and taste different flavors just to see. I have no idea what the colas or e.g. cherry/chocolate tobacco would taste like, etc. I have a chocolate mint. It would be fine to drip once in awhile, but certainly not something to use more than that. What I first want to find is one or more great all day vape. Then I'll fill in w/ the others.

What ratio would you use to mix fruit juice with the tobacco? Think I'll wait till my RDA arrives. Don't want to waste a lot of juice experimenting. I can see how for a pack/day smoker, vaping can save money. But for me - a pack or so/week - this has been far more expensive (so far). Once I get settled, it'll probably even out. Regardless, I look at it as a hobby (like electronics) - not just to replace smoking with.

Well, maybe they (the flavor bars) haven't come to Montreal yet, though that seems odd, it's such a big city. They're all over the place down here; at least two right here in this medium-size NE-suburbs-of-Atlanta town.

I'm working on creating my own chocolate-peppermint, using Halo's Kringle's Curse for the peppermint, and currently, Crystal Canyon Vapes 'Geneva' as the chocolate, though that may change, it seems kinda weak. You're right, it's not something for all the time, but I keep some in one of my eRolls, to give my tastebuds something new to taste, when the taste of my regular 'Virginia' seems weak -- that 'vaper tongue' problem I suppose. Someone said that adding vanilla to chocolate makes the chocolate taste more 'true', so maybe I'll try that with the Geneva.

The Virginia e-juice I vape all the time is the one that tastes the most like the cigarettes I smoked, Virginia Slims, much moreso that I originally thought possible, but better. It's very smooth, very mild, with the faintest hint of apples in there somewhere, and just a whisper of cinnamon. But, having such a mild taste, sometimes my tastebuds just seem to go numb to it. I also keep apple-cinnamon handy in the other eRoll, for yet another kind of taste change-up.

I agree about the hobby aspect; this is a lot more interesting than yet another $11 trip to Walgreens for 2 pks of smokes. :thumb:

Welcome! I've gotten my five posts and viola, can now post in other threads I'm totally unqualified to post in! LOL

I'm working up to my 20 posts so I can be verified and then have access to the classifieds. I like that it's secure and requires verification because, yeah, I'll probably be giving someone money. It makes sense. But I thought you might want to know that's the next step since I just figured that out, like, ten minutes ago.

Also, if someone already told you that on page two of the comments I thought I was there but just saw I'm on page one but I don't want to lose this post so I'm going to hope for the best!

Nice to meet you!

Are you a man of wealth and taste? Hi!

pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name....................

drippers are for advanced users generally...do every bit of research you can and buy a multimeter and as i have, buy a black box ohm checker and always check it against your vamo ,multimeter and ohm meter for error before ever hitting the on switch... best of luck. . <*}}}>{
