I started vaping in September 2015, and I'm still a dual user ... but I've (without too much discomfort) cut down from 1+ packs a day to 6 cigarettes per day. It's my wake up coffee and after work coffee that keeps me smoking, and I'm still looking for the ideal morning ejuice to give me a nicotine punch and taste great with coffee.

My significant other (who also smoked a pack per day), quit instantly when he started vaping ... without even "trying". Alas, my journey hasn't been as clean, but I'm proud of the progress I've made toward total smoking cessation. Cutting out the last handful will take a concerted effort, but I'm confident that I finally have the tools to make it happen. Six months ago, I never would have believed that I could significantly reduce my smoking in an enjoyable way.

Best Wishes!

I don't know what's worse, using a vaping forum to force your political views on people or using the phrase "higgledy piggeldy" in a sentence.

It's definitely using the phrase "higgledy piggeldy" Were you forced to read my post? In Alabama, Is making a statement now "forcing" your political views on people? Now that would be a scary place.

I was just wondering if there is anyone here like me. I was a smoker for 30 years and started vapeing about a year ago and am loving it. Only thing is, I'm still a smoker. I never got in to this as a replacement for cigarettes. Just another way to consume nicotine. Right now it's about 50/50, but I have cut back from 2 1/2 packs a day to a little less than one.
I'm not afraid to admit this and totally accept my addiction. I just sometimes fell like I don't belong in your world or in this forum. I can't seem to find anyone who still smokes like me. I know your out there, hiding, afraid of the ridicule you will get from all these clean lung vapers with there fancy ticking success banners. It's time to show yourselves and unite. Be
proud to be a Nicotine Sucking Dog!
When I first came to the site there was a long running and very active thread specifically for the support of dual users. I took a quick look and did a quick search but could not locate it. Maybe someone with a better memory can link to it. Not sure if it died off or just isn't on my radar anymore.

Good luck with your vaping. No matter how you go about it, when you are puffing on a vape you aren't puffing on a cig and that's what counts.

You aren't alone Swamprats. I am a proud dual user. Didn't start vaping to quite cigs, started 'cuz I like saving money. Saved ~ $2200 last year.

Don't worry about people getting judgmental around here. About the only thing that (some) people on this board will get judgmental about is if you admit to blowing clouds in the cereal isle at Wal-Mart. ;)

Hey!

Just entered the conversation. I'm not judging you when I say any of the following. Do as you wish. If your health seems good enough for you, then keep on going, but there is a price to be paid in the end for smoking. We're adults. We all know that. For me, my health was not good, and I could feel it. So I changed. I took up vaping.

I quit smoking the first week I started vaping. I was truly addicted to the chemicals they put in to the Marlboro cigarettes, and I smoked them all except for the menthol. I've done Copenhagen, molasses plug, cigars of all kinds, and cigarettes over at least a decade. To be honest, I've lost count of how many years I smoked and how many times I've quit. This time, it seems for good.

To me, at 12mg, the nicotine and e-liquid "solution to smoking" is so clean... I can go almost forever without needing to vape. I vape because I like to vape. That might not sound so scientific but I've gone 8hrs with no vaping at all, and was not stressed at all. Had I tried to do that when I was smoking, I would have become moody, or aggravated, and feeling low on energy, after 2 to 4 hours.

I quit smoking for my health. I have heart related issues, bicuspid aortic valve - that now has me living with "senile aortic stenosis," which will require a valve at some time. My lungs have cleared up in the 6 months I've been vaping, and cardiac-wise, I feel fine. In my apartment, I'm looking at a new set of Kreitler rollers and my old Serotta racing bike that I have from my college days back in 93. I'm going to be getting on that soon.

I shoveled the snow the other day here in Chicago...like a wild man, and walked back up two flights of stairs, NO PROBLEM. Didn't feel a thing negatively. No tightness in my chest. Didn't stop while shoveling. There was not much snow, but, I do not foresee any issues going forward. I'll be 56 this year.

Can't imagine feeling better. If I quit vaping, I don't think I'd improve my lot. That's how good I think vaping is for me. I think it would be better if you only vaped too, but, we have just one life and you may as well do what you want for it's entirety.

Oh, definitely using "higgeldy piggeldy", at least 'round these parts.. Left unchecked, it could lead to other antiquated colloquialisms being used. It's the thin end of the wedge, the fox in the hen-house and unabated pandemonium waiting to break out!! Stamp this behavior out now, while there's still time to save our collective naivete!

Unsolicited and unwarranted injection of political views is dé rigueur here for some, although it's not really @HauntedMyst 's specialty. There are other members who execute it with all the warmth and comfort of a dry colonoscopy. I gave up becoming upset over it. The dry colonoscopy, that is - my gastroenterologist is a real suave charmer. The other stuff gets me apoplectic.

I went from a pack a day, to now about a half a cig a day. It's just in the morning to go with my coffee. Sometimes I'll have one when I drink too.

I still want to get it completely out of my life, but eh. Vaping is a huge victory none the less. I think there are a lot of people in our boat. I sometimes feel like I'm hiding this fact too, but I say don't over think it.

Let's just keep doing the best we can to get cigs out of our life.
