Do not be Afraid to Vape in Public!

To vape in public and carry ECF cards with info about ecigs would really open up people's minds to vaping and enourage new visitors to these forums!

I smoke my ecig in public all the time here around Columbus Ohio, I've only had one manager at a Texas Roadhouse say anything to me, she came up to me and said..." I know I can't tell you to stop but I wanted to let you know that people were complaining". So I took another puff and said..." so your point is what?" and she walked away. LOL!

87thats so cool! you were rude to a server who was totally polite to you! way to go!! i bet you left her a whopping tip too.

it sucks that there are people giving vapers a bad name. I vape in public pretty openly and i live in a county where vaping indoors is actually banned. As many others have said, it is possible to vape openly WITHOUT bothering others and WITHOUT giving vapers a bad name. We shouldn't hide our vaping, we shouldn't be ashamed of our vaping: we should be proud we have chosen a healthier alternative and familiarizing others with it is certainly a positive thing. We shouldn't, however, give vaping or vapers a bad name. Being rude and confrontational most certainly portrays vaping in a negative light.

Yesterday I vaped in public with my bright shiny red Volcano Inferno FOR THE FIRST TIME. Before that, it took me awhile but I did become comfortable vaping with my cigarette look alike KR808 D-1. Once I did each one, the next time was easier. Now, since the INFERNO is my preferred pv, and since I've "popped my public Ecig cherry" I will continue to use the INFERNO.

It's the first step that's the hardest!

Depends where you live. In Ukraine nobody has these Ive never seen an electronic ci-510 smoked here..only me! And mine 510 is gold with a purple LED..it looks pimpish. Ive been stopped 3 times by the Ukraine police..and once arrested for smoking this, been kicked out of 2 cafes, kicked off the bus once..anymore I smoke where smokers can smoke or if I do smoke where I cant I do it in stealth. I wish i could smoke wherever I wanted without any hassle but that just aint so from my experience..Ukraine is still stuck in the 1950s..Most people smoke here like the amount of people did in the US in the 50s.

I've gotten my PVs for a week and I sometimes purposely Vaper in public for the fun of it.
I got some discrimination from my colleages who I used to smoke with, y'know ..... smoking fake cig and stuff.but it doesn't bother me, actually I think smokers are jealous of us. We are smoke and cancer free and uninhibited by anti smoking laws, spend much less than them, not to mention we are cooler, nothing like puffing a black 510 with blue led, wearing my Armani shades and giving a nonchalant look.
I've had a lady said I was the coolest smoker she knew, before I corrected her that I wasn't a smoker anymore lol

I vape in public here in Los Angeles, and if anyone has said anything to me, it's been to ask questions, and find out more info about vaping.

They either know someone who wants to quit, or they smoke and are intrigued by ecigs.

My brother-in-law, who lives in Dallas, asked me yesterday to help him purchase an eCig for one of his employees, who smokes like a fiend, but heard about electronic PV's from my brother-in-law, who doesn't smoke himself, but saw me vaping.

I encourage vapers to vape in public, but do so respectfully. I always try to sit near a door or out of the way, if I'm vaping in a restaurant, but I've vaped in some of the most upscale restaurants in Beverly Hills, and nobody has said a word to me!

Obviously, in the Ukraine, I wouldn't advise it!

I've had the "....." remark. I was asked if I want to go out for a "real smoke, instead of that ....." cigarette. I've been told "vaping is gay". Yet, I was diagnosed with Chronic Pulmonary Fibrosis a while back. Luckily, it is still considered to be in the minor stages. I remind them that smoking is literally killing me. They lay off.

Most of the time, they doing jokingly. I do find that when they run out of smokes during the day and I don't have anything they can bum, they really get pissy seeing me puff away in my office. I remember those days of running out.

Oh well. I vape for me, not them! ;-)

My college just recently went to a "Smoke Free Campus" Between that and the cost of analogs is what prompted me to try and swap to PV's. The only time I managed to cause a stir on campus was when I had my analog look-alike, so thats part of the reason that when I ordered my 510 I specifically ordered one that looked as far from an analog as possible. I got the Titanium body with the blue LED on one and no LED on the other. Since then the campus security have eased up. With the analog twin it was hard for them to tell that I wasn't actually smoking from their perch in their golf cart, lol

I wonder how soon it will be before vapers who use PV that do not look like cigarettes will start getting investigated by the cops. I've got this mental picture: You're in your car with your Ego, maybe a feeder device like a Vape Mate and one of those cool glass drip tube/mouthpiece things. Nothing screams "drug paraphernalia" like vapor coming out of a prop from Star Wars. LOL Officer Friendly pulls you over... "You're in a heap o' trouble, boy..." And so a meaningful dialog begins? No. $125.00 worth of PV gets confiscated...

I ordered my first PC in black with a blue led so most people can tell from across the room that it isn't a cigarette. I was in a cafe recently a vaped and the only reaction I had was from a smoker that wanted to know where he could buy them locally (only the disposable ones seem to be available here) and I told him that he would get a much better deal if he ordered them off the internet and told him about ECF to get a clue on which ones are good.

When I plan on vaping in public, I normally will load the cart up with coffee ejuice and no one seems to complain about it. Other than to say they are now craving a cup of coffee!! Most of the people I have come across knows something about ecigarettes and are curious about them. I have already converted several of my friends, who were smokers to vapers! They know I used to smoke 2.5 packs of 100s cigarettes a day and think that if they work for me, then it will work for them!!!!

YES in Ukraine Do not smoke a ecig in public! or if you do get one that looks very cigarette like and smoke only in smoking areas. I learned the hard way..thing is nobody has these here and the police thought I was smoking wacky drugs or something that's why i was arrested. If traveling to Russia-Ukraine-Belarus be cautious smoking this in public it can seriously lead you to the slammer! Avoid a 'weird' looking vapor pipe! Like mine it was the 510 golden with a purple LED. Some of the pipes Ive seen here on this very forum will no doubt draw attention by the police in possible any nation!
In Public I take with me my eHealth cigarette looking pipe or my ecigar. never again will i do my gold 510 in public in Ukraine!

Nice post and is great read up but look at the things they put in, the post is market from Direct E-Cig™. I think is their marketing strategy.

I didn't take it that way. I took it more that Direct E-Cig™ just provided all of the e-cigs and info.

The Doctors is a highly respected show. Direct Marketing or not, it will grab the positive attention that we desperately need.
