I have been using carto tanks for a wile now and decided to switch over to clearomizers as my local b&m shop has them in and so i decided to get the ones with the best reviews. I bought 2 kanger t3s and 2 vapeonly bccs. And oh my god for the first 2 days they vaped awsome and the flavor was increadable i could taste every nuance of all the flavors in the juice i never wanted to go back to dumb ... cartos. Then at night the second day i started getting burnt hits scratchy hits and flooding and gurgleing. Man i tried everthing removing a wick adding a wick flipping the rubber gromit and even swaping coils. Lol i found myself swaping coils and pulling and placing wicks for 5 hours trying to make these f#ckin stupid things work. I cant believe that a product can work soo good for 2 days and then bam quit out on you. It is not like i am doing anything differant ether. I am still vaping the same. The problem now is i remember how awsome my juice tasted when i first got them and now my cartos just dont taste the same. Lol i want that new clearo flavor but with carto tank reliability. I feel like i met the best woman i will ever have and then she left me now nobody will measure up. . . Lol

i mean i went through 6 heads on the vape only and 2 on the kangers. I know thease can be rebuilt but i havent done that yet. Are they worth a rebuild? does rebuilding the heads yourself bring back that original awsome taste? because the stock heads no matter how modded only sem to last a day before dry scratchy hits and then they are f#cked.

Pics of all the heads i went through. And i went right back to my old setup smoketach carto tank and 1.5ohm dcc. But the flavor is missing now that i first got from the clearo. Are there any cartos that will taste as good or better. Mabey a boge single coil 2.0 in my tank. Or should i try rewicking the clearos. I do know how to rewick

Yeh i know how to do it. What i am asking is, is it even worth my time to rewick it? i am new to the forum but not new to vaping. If i rewick these clearos are they just going to do the same damn thing and give me dry scrtchy hits after a day or two. Or will the rebuilt heads last like in a did or aga. Thease are my first bottom coils and so far i have not had a good experience with them. Well acept for the awsome flavor when you pop that brand new head in then its all down hill from there.

I love the concept of bottom coils and i want them to work soo bad. I know i can fill my carto tank and chain vape it with no prob and i know what the juice will taste like when i hit it. With the bcc clearos I get awsome flavor for a puff or two then i get scared to puff on lol like it this going to be the burnt hit or the next i know its coming soon. And oops juice in my mouth. Plus my kanger gurgled so loud when i was puffing in a bathroom stall the guy besides me thought i was hitting a water ..... Will rewicking with 3 mm wick fix this. I have 2mm and 3mm silica wick and kanthal wire.


What i want to know is if rewicking Thease things fixes them for good or will they still be acting up on me. I dont want to fiddle with clearos if they are not ever going to be up to par. You know. It would be a waste of my money to have a pile of shiny new clearos sitting in my vape draw wiles i puff my year old cartos tank. Lol

I dont want to give up on clearos just yet. I feel like there has to be one out there that produces awsome flavor and can be chain vaped without burnt hits. Rebuilt or stock. I think i am going to try out the pro tank first and if i get burnt hits from that or it acts up on me. I will rebuild all the clearos i have and give them another go. If they still act up even with rebuilt coils idk man i wasted money.


Any one have similar experience with clearos then swap back to cartos? it cant be just me. I want them to work so bad because the flavor is amazing. I mean my cartos tank taste bland now compared to the vape only bcc.

Also someone please recomend a rock solid clearo that i can chain vape. Price is not an option.

Just a quick question, what juice are you using? Because the decline in performance could be because of your juice. If you are using a very sweet, heavy juice it could just be that the coils are getting gunked up. Many juices , especially naturally extracted tobaccos (NET) can dirty up the coils in one tankful. RY4s, sweet dark bakery flavours etc.

I am using ry4. ry8. Juicy peach and strawberry. They all work fine in my cartos tank but they tasted unreal in the kanger t3 and vape only when i first got them. Right now i just washed out and cleaned one of my vape only bcc 2.5 heads and let it dry out then put it back together and added juicy peach. Waited 10 min then gave it a few primer puffs and started to vape it.



It tastes like old socks. . . A far cry from 3 days ago when i vaped the same flavor and went wow holy sh#t this taste awsome.

Ok ok the vape only bcc with the juicy peace. Even after a clean and wash and dry out.( I put the 2.5 ohm coil back in with 2 top wicks on it ) and vaped it for like 10 min it still taste like old carpet or wet dog ... What is going on. I put the other vape only back togethere same way just now clean dried and 2 flavor wicks and its vaping strawberry. The flavor is there but its like just ok and i am still in fear of the dreaded dry hit.

They are not the same as the day i got them. I want to fix that.

Alright I don't know whAt is going on here but the vapeonly that I cleaned up but the strawberry and its working like new again but only with that one coil head and it seems no other heads will work just that one. Well it's still kind of has an of flavor but it tastes better than it does in my cartomizer tank. And I'm still getting dry hits after every third or fourth puff.

I just want to be able to vape my clearos with out any hassles. And so far they are a heuge fail

for the burnt taste I had to carfully pull out on little strand out of the coiled portion of the wick and it worked perfectly, but that is a do at your own risk kind of move. I found doing a non fire puff helped with the burnt hits as well

The burnt taste is from high voltage wattage or not good flow of juise

If you've already spent hours trying to fix it, another 15min won't kill you. Do this.
* Go to local pharmacy and buy 100% cotton-cotton balls if you don't have any (or the round pads)
*Burn some with fire, make sure no synthetic fiber hardness. Just in case.
*Remove silica wick
*Boil cotton ball for a few minutes
*Dry with paper towels
*Make a wick (don't over-think it, just do it, you have plenty to work with to find a good piece of parallel strands)
*yada yada yada. You won't be dissapointed...until you burn the wick on accident.

Don't press the button unless you're inhaling or checking to see if flooded for maybe a second. If you're inhaling, the wick isn't just soaking up juice on its own, you're sucking juice into the wick because of the suction. You shouldn't burn it unless the draw is too airy (not as much suction on the tank) and/or the battery is hot off the charger @4.2v, instead of the 3.7 it quickly drops down to. Good luck! I feel your pain and I'm still experimenting with materials and techniques.

Don't give up on clearos! Definitely get the Protank. Re-wick with cotton, leave the coil. =Profit

Just need to tighten up the draw a little, not for preference but for suction of juice. I actually prefer 4.2v but you have to be careful or it's easier to singe the wick. Best part is, a singed cotton wick is only a little harsh.

Safe or not, I'm pretty sure the "scratchy" dry hits from a silica wick is the irritation from inhaling silica shards. IMHO not good, or at least not a good feeling!

When you say you are cleaning the heads, are you dry burning them?

Until you learn how to rebuild T3s....just go to MyVaporStore and buy the Vision 2.0 clearos. no leaks, rebuilds, good taste. If you invert for more than a few seconds i get just a tiny drop come out, that's all. So i carry them upright mounted, or in a narrow tall ziplock they came in and lined up. I carry 5 to 8 of these and 2 or 3 batts eGo 900s and Spinner 1300s. Love this setup

also check the threads on burnt taste and initial cleaning. i found patches of clear machine oil floating after initial soak out of the mail. also i think lower volts prolong the life of clearos, i use 3.2 - 3.5 with good clouds

Can't you get cotton wicks a michael's or something?

I found that after 2-3 days, the Protank starts leaking, needing a top wick replacement. Only thing is, the flavor is never the same as a new coil.

Not 100% sure about Michaels, I think so though. Definitely Walmart yarn and Walgreens cotton balls and round pads.

Do it! I'm still a noob in many ways, but I do know this, cotton works! The difference in flavor is beautiful. Yes, beautiful.

There are little issues with it just like other types of wick, but it's totally worth it. Just make sure the draw is tighter than it comes stock and don't fire that button unless you're inhaling. It won't burn if you're sucking a ton of delicious juice into it.

Okay so I have an update… I went to Michael's earlier today And found that they have many different types of yarn. Most of their thick yarn is made of acrylic or wool. They do have cotton yarn, however the thickest I could find that was undyed was about as big as a dime. Also it's mercerized cotton (a crafts type of cotton that's treated with lye to give it a shine). I believe it's been washed after the treatment. Dunno if this is good to try..

I have the yarn i bought next to a dime and a piece of silica wick (the kind you buy for rebuildables)
