Please help Carto Question!

Has anyone experienced flavor loss after cleanin out your carto?i have used it for about a week or more and i cleaned it last night cant remember why and dried it out refilled it this morning and now i seem to have lost the flavor of my liquid, could this be related to my cleaning or just because it went bad? i can still taste it but only very slightly

did you dry burn it? if you just let it air dry it may not be fully dry yet there still might be some moisture in it i think if you dry butn it completely which i believe is when you put it on a mod or battery and fire it for a lil bit itll dry it out completely im not 100 percent sure but im sure someone else will post and educate you and i both

what carto is it exactly? brand etc?

i did do that and i made sure there was no water in it before i refilled it it was completely dry as far as i know unless there was some in there hiding lol.

oh thats what im vaping on at the moment but i chain vape so i only get about an hour out of it before i needa refill its such a pain in the @$$ lol

Ive never had any luck cleaning a Boge Carto. no dry burn on these. Wont help IMO. You might try blowing it out and refilling to try and get the moisture out if any exists.. Water and the batting they use dont mix.. Best when you get to the point on a Boge that it is in need of cleaning toss it. They are cheap. Try blowing it out into a paper towel what you can get out of it and then adding a little juice and see how or if it will come back. Sometimes just using them a while will bring it back.

I use attys mostly or clearimizers that can be dry burned and have better flavor imo.. Good luck.

It can take awhile for the liquid to soak in good and it has to "break in" again..if you didn't let it dry for a good amount of time there is probably some water in it too. With my CE2's after I pull them apart I dry the wick with a mini-torch but with poly-fill you can't do that..it can take a day or more to dry so it might have diluted your flavor a little..if you give it time to soak use it a little and after you fill it again it probably will regain the flavor. Next time you clean one I suggest you leave it drying on a paper towel in a warm place for a day or 2.

No vapor, burning taste or feeling like you're sucking a bowling ball through a straw are the signs for me. By the way, you should NEVER dry burn a filler carto like a Boge or you'll definitely ruin it.

You will taste a burning sensation which is the polyfill burning. That is some nasty tasting stuff when it burns. Just top off your carto every once in a while and keep them moist will probably help. I never try to clean a carto, as I just use a new one. If you are getting a week out of a carto, that is pretty good.

yeah i figure no more cleaning =( but i had a question, i know this has happened before when i first started vaping (the flavor loss) and i'd clean out the carto and refill. is flavor loss a sign that i should toss it as well?

bump anyone know? when the flavor dies out i add more but it usually never lasts long. This is with no cleaning whatsoever. i think thats what happened to my other one thats why i ended up cleaning it

Boge 2 ohm

I've only tried two different types of cartos but I love the Boge 2 ohm cartos. I still have some left from my order I placed about 3 weeks ago. I never vaped them for a whole week though. The max I used them was probably 3 days. I didn't want them to burn. I would do the reverse Taryn Spin so I could get the rest of the liquid out of the carto (make sure the juice isn't burnt because the juice will tase really bad! I made that mistake)

Then I cleaned them. I boiled them for about 17 minutes and then would put them in a turkey baster. I would get a mug and put really hot water in it. Then I would flush the carto probably 7 times and take it out. I blew out the excess water (blowing from the top where the cap goes on). Then I let them sit for 3 or 4 days and blew out again to make sure there wasn't any water.

This seemed to work really well for me. What device are you using?

If you get a warning sign that you need to clean it then it's time to toss it. I toss mine as soon as I start tasting any sort of burnt flavor. Normally the vapor will start to smell really bad too (that's when I know it's really time to toss it).

the flavor of my liquid slowly seems to fade on me as i use the carto after about a week, so i add a bit more and it doesnt really come back only for maybe 30 mins of vaping and it fades out on me again. im currently using a Riva SE, but i got a KGO coming from hoosier real excited about that one.

Hmm...my guess is that it might be the juice you are using. When a carto goes bad you will barely be able to smoke it anymore because it tastes so bad. I've never experienced a carto just loosing flavor. Thats just in my opinion though!
