My 12 year old autistic nephews favorite thing to do is to go to the zoo. They go every weekend that they can. But haven't been able to go for the last two months because he has been suffering with a chronic illness. He has been in and out of the hospital and ended up having a life saving operation. He is recovering now. Our zoo is having a walk to raise money to help the animals and are asking participants for pledges to attend. They are also offering prizes for various levels of amounts raised. One of these prizes is to meet the zoo keepers of the penguins and you get to feed the penguins. The penguins are my nephews favorite animal at the zoo. They always have to see them before they leave and they have been off exhibit most of the year as they have been redesigning in their enclosure. I want my nephew to be able to feed the penguins. I know it would probably be the most memorable experience of his life. I ask that you help us raise enough money for him to be able to do this. Your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law. Every dollar raised for this event goes directly towards providing excellent care, food and enrichment for the more than 1,700 animals at the zoo. Thank you so much for your support.

and have you considered facebook? i hate to say it but rocket was right in one respect. i don't think posting this here will get it the attention it deserves. there are plenty of kentucky vapers on ecf who might be interested in supporting the louisville zoo and help your nephew at the same time it's just a matter of finding them

Yes it's on facebook and has been from the start. I missed what Rocketpunk said maybe it's best I did. I posted here because we needed the word out. Facebook is not generating the interest we hoped for. Thank you to those who took the time to read this thread.
