Been through a few mods now, love hate relationship with all them;

My current favorite, Sentinel M16, but don't like that I have to lock it every time I put it down, and top cap threads wear out too quick. Love that I can make it fit any battery/rba combo with very little fiddling as it has a floating pin. Kinda ugly if I'm honest, compared to other mods

Like the Nemesis, but again, have to lock it every time I set it down, and it takes longer than the m16 as it has more threads. Lots of fiddling to make connection/avoid battery rattle, etc. Very elegant looking compared to the M16 though.

Atomo clone, fried it in my laptop bag (again, have to lock it)
smok Magneto, fried it, same as above, almost caught my bag on fire
Chi You, hated it, too much fiddling to get out the battery rattle, major production to lock it, heavy

My setup is 18650 battery with a Kraken or kayfun, occasional RBA

So my needs seems to be (in order of importance)

1. Recessed firing switch (or other type that allows me to set it down without worrying about firing) -- no locking!!!
2. Floating pins (or least amount of "fiddle factor" to avoid battery rattle and get flush, clean connection
3. Brass would be nice, copper or black as well. Elegant look
4. Hybrid-able -- would be nice to be able to hybrid the kraken or KF to make lower profile
5. Must hit like a freight train!

Clone or Authentic, (prefer clone to start, if I like it for my ADV, I'll buy the authentic)

Ideas? Thanks ECF!!!!

Do you just want to set it down with out it firing or are you looking to also be able to put in bags, pockets etc without firing? Reason I ask is because of the atomo and smok description above.

Smpl mod perhaps. MCR 101 with recessed switch, it also has a hybrid adapter. Gp paps, can set down with out it firing and not have to lock. Top cap has the gpin which is great and there are a number of hybrid adapters that work with it as it has 20x1 threading. Many options out there.

Colonial mod by mad industries. $100. Recessed concaved button, floating top pin. It's aluminum, which is a great conductive metal and light weight. I don't know the thread ratio but I'm betting you could probably find an after market hybrid top.

SMPL mod, $120. Copper/stainless/brass. Recessed button. Hybrid top and it's the "unfidley" mod. Thread your Atty on, drop in a battery and finger turn your button in. Doesn't get any easier. Added bonus, give your button a turn or two with your finger and it's as good as locked, because it can't make contact. It's the size of an 18500 mod. Also light weight. I absolutely LOVE mine.

Regardless of how a switch is configured, it is always a prudent idea to lock it out when not in use.

Yes agreed, I've learned that lesson now twice the hard way.

Just got the last brass SMPL from Vapor Lair, sweeeet!!! My first "authentic". Can't wait. Thanks for the suggestions!!!
