Hi guys, I am a new rda user, just got a Patriot rda last week and I really enjoyed until today.
So I was using the original coil&wick build which come with the RDA(not cotton)
Today, I went to a vape store to grab some juices. i showed them my Patriot,
and they told me it's a really bad build, they want to rebuild it for me, and then I said sure, why not?
so here is what they did: They rebuilded it with cotton and made the air hole a lot larger.
it gives me a lot more vapor and it's also very warm.
my problem is, i really enjoyed my old build because I had to "vape" few seconds to get enough vapor
but now, it gives me crazy vapor like a cloud. I don't even have to "vape" it, I just need to vape 0.5 second and it gives me a lot of vapor. And sometimes it burns my lips too.......
I like the action of "vaping the drip tip". It's just too much for me now...... What can I do to reduce the vapor?
thanks guys, my English is not perfect, I hope you guys can understand me, thanks!!

so these people charged you not only to change your perfectly good coil into honestly a dangerously unsafe build but also for the battery that you need to come somewhere close to being able to run the build safely? Did they sell you anything else?

I hate Brick and Mortar stores that do stuff like this. Did they go over any safety bullet points after changing your coil or just send you on your way?

Looks like they drilled the cap also, at least according to the OP. And that's a shame as it cannot be un-drilled if the OP doesn't like the draw.

This is rediculous. If the OP liked what he already had set up why are they trying to turn him into a cloud chaser. He obviously was happy with how it was. They were trying to make a sale, at any cost. Ugh!

Have you built your own coils before? If not, go to you tube and watch some videos on it. It's not hard. You may have to build it a couple of times to get it right. Do you have an ohms reader?

Wow I can't believe they built you such a low ohm build without discussing it over with you. I'm thinking it was there plan to make a quick sale, as that built would require you to purchase a new better battery.

They definitely built you a cloud blower. Just built something that you like, maybe in the 1.6-2 ohm range

Thank you so much for everyone's replies!!! I've learned a lot from u guys^_^
I don't really know how to rebuild my rda but I will try when I get home (I'm in Vegas now)
I'm also thinking of getting a carto tank because it's easy to use

Can I ask one more question please? Why they asked me to get a new battery(green one), why they said my old Efest is not safe? My old and new batteries are both 3.7v, how is the green one safer? I'm kind of sad, I found them on yelp with high reviews but it turns out gave me bad experience......

I don't vape sub ohm, but from my understanding you need a higher amp rated battery to do subohm because it pulls more current(?) from the battery. So, it's my understanding that they sold you that battery specifically because they built you a subohm coil. I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong.

Eta: I think the efest has an amp limit of 10 amps and that green one they sold you has an amp limit of 30 amps. So, like, running a 1 ohm coil at 3.7 volts would give you a current of 3.7 amps, but running a 0.2 ohm coil at 3.7 volts would give you 18.5 amps of current. So you need a battery that can handle the current drain.

One more question please, the coil and wick package says it's 0.3ohm per inch, does that mean this build is 0.3ohm?

Not necessarily. 1 inch of that wire would give a resistance of 0.3 ohms. It depends on how much wire they used, which depends on how many wraps they did and what the diameter of the coil is.
