Pick up an Ohm reader if you don't already have one. I wouldn't go back to cartos since you already have a nice setup. Just watch a couple videos on Youtube about building coils. It's not as scary as it looks and it's rewarding customizing your build to your liking.

I would suggest 1.3 ohms and up, that should give you results similar to your old build as they take just a little longer to heat up. Letting you take a longer draw that won't be as warm or overwhelm you with clouds.

Being in Vegas I'm interested in which shop did this. Did they go over the build they did with you, how to build your own coil, any safety procedures??

They sold you the green battery for safety as someone already said, which is good I guess, but if they didn't explain it then what good is it??

If you're here in Vegas without supplies to rebuild, and the shop is here, then I would call them up and explain the situation. Let them know you would like to know what resistance the coil is they built for you and explain that you like less of a fog machine. They may say come on back and we'll fix things up for you.. If they do go back with knowledge.. Ask them to let you see what the coil is reading on an ohm meter.

Really troubling that a shop here in Vegas would do such things without explaining in depth what they were doing or making sure you understood already. imo.

Thanks guys..... I will try me best to rebuild it....
And no, they didn't ask me any question about what I want..... All they did was taking my device away and then gave me back after 10mins and asked me for tips..... They didn't explain how it works at all..... Only told me keep adding juice, don't let it dry....

First thing I would do is go back to that shop and demand an new dripper, or at least a new top cap. And also tell them to make a 1.2 ohm build.

Looks like they made you a dual coil build. If you remove one of the coils, should bring your resistance up to .6, if it really is .3ohms. Then you could put some tape or maybe break off a toothpick in the air hole no longer in front of the coil.

Looking at your pictures, I would guess it's not really a sub ohm build, but the only way to know is with some type of ohm checker or a multimeter. An absolutely necessary tool for rebuilding. If it is a sub-ohm buil, I would scrap the hole thing and get a new coil in there. Nobody needs to be starting out that low. It's just dangerous.

Seems like the build would almost have to be sub ohm though, doesn't it? Or am I just confused. If his wire package says .3 ohm/inch and he's got a dual coil build, I don't see how it could be above an ohm. I mean, each coil would have to at least 2 ohms, which would mean they'd have to be uh... Over 3 inches long each, uncoiled. Or am I doing that math wrong?

Anyway, yeah, a multimeter or coil meter would clear it up. I like the idea of going back to the shop. Get them to build you another coil, have them check the ohms and tell you what the resistance is. Perhaps ask for a new cap for your atomizer if you don't like the draw with the new coil. I don't know that they'd do that, but it's worth asking.

Replacing the cap shouldn't be an issue. They drilled it without asking him. Plus, I'm sure some customer would be interested in that cap eventually. If for some reason they don't replace it, maybe put a rolled up sliver of mesh in the hole to reduce the air flow. Or maybe even just place tape over the hole and pop it with a pin. Then all you have to do is get a 1.5-2 ohm coil in there and boom, done.

It's rare to want less vapor, but not unheard of. Most folks want to get away from factory setups/specs but not always. The shop just assumed what you wanted and that's not right. It's also not right that they didn't go over safety with you. I wonder if the shop's liability policy covers them for that type of exposure. Because thats quite an exposure they've opened themselves up to.

The number on the package that says 0.3 ohms per inch may mean nothing, like a reused bag or something. The only way to know is to measure it.

I can't believe the vape shop would send you out the door without telling you any details about what they did to your equipment or even making sure that you are happy with it. I would take it back, tell them you are not happy with what they did, and that you want to know the resistance, wire gauge and drilled air hole diameter. I won't go into details about what is right or wrong in these regards, but by simply owning a dual coil RDA you should know what the implications are. They may owe you a new cap and a less dangerous build.

As a final note, the green battery is rated for 30 amp continuous discharge. The efests are probably only good up to 10 amps. As a beginner, you REALLY should not be using a setup which pulls more than 10 amps, since it can be very unsafe if you don't know what you are doing. Overloading a lithium ion battery can release incredible heat, severely burning and scarring you for life or starting a fire which destroys your home. This would be a rare occurance, but it is not an exaggeration.

so these people charged you not only to change your perfectly good coil into honestly a dangerously unsafe build but also for the battery that you need to come somewhere close to being able to run the build safely? Did they sell you anything else?

I hate Brick and Mortar stores that do stuff like this. Did they go over any safety bullet points after changing your coil or just send you on your way?

Dangerously unsafe build? How?

I'd be ...... they drilled out my top cap though.
