I'm using Boge cartos (3.0) on my 510. After the initial fill (I make sure it's thoroughly saturated), I vape happily for a little while. Then it seems like it needs topping off because the vape changes (less flavor, less vapor...you know what I mean). I look in and see the top of the filler isn't juicy anymore. I drop some more juice in. More times than not, I then start getting juice coming out of the battery connection end.

I just don't understand how it can vape like it needs topping off and look like it needs topping off, but really doesn't need to be topped off.

What's my problem?

your problem is leaking, right ?
usually drip some juice into the steel of carto not into the middle ( coz this is a breathing hole ) , maybe you put some liquid into the middle. if it leaking you can put paper towel at battery connection and blow it.

if it need topping off, it start less vapor n flavor, when it show you should drip some juice , i think boge normal carto is about 1ml, to be more acurate you can use syringe to fill your cartomizer :)

3ohm is a pretty high ohm carto, you say on your 510 ? 510 what exactly ? I would say you need more Batt power something with some more oomph for that 3ohm carto, just a thought, or maybe a lower ohm carto as well then the 3ohm. put that 3ohm more toward 4.6--4.8V and it would kick it out !

I used to have that problem with my m602c cartos. Is your liquid VG, or at least mostly VG? There's usually trouble when it's thicker juice. Also i used to have to tinker with them and "spin them to get the juice distributed evenly. I DONT SUGGEST, trying to keep running the coil (burning when it tastes dry). The problem for me was that the liquid would saturate the outside layers of batting but not get to the center (where the "atomizer" is). This led to leakage due to the outside being soaked, and dry, burning taste due to juice not getting to the coil. When I cut my juice it helped. The ones that you've used so far, sad to say, are probably no good anymore. The lower om rating (problably between 2.3-2.6) for your 510 might help, but if it's the wicking issue, it might just burn through your carto quicker. If you can take one of the used ones apart and check to see how it was/nt soaked (gloves are a must!).

Wow, yeah, what these guys said. Using a 3Ω carto on a standard voltage device (3.2V) will give you less than three and a half watts at the coil. I'm surprised you're getting any vapor at all. The voltage drop as the battery weakens is probably more noticeable at that low wattage making you think you're low on juice.
My perfect vape is around 8.5 watts. (4.6V at 2.5Ω)
Yeah, get some of the 2Ω Boges. That'll at least get you up around 5 watts.

The 3Ω Boge cartos are pretty weak on something like an eGo, better on an unregulated device which does make a noticeable difference. Since power is proportional to the square of the voltage a smaller difference in voltage can make a bigger difference in power. I run the 3Ω ones at 5.2V myself.

I run a drip tip on them and fill by dripping into them when I'm out, but at home I use a syringe to force fill them. It does saturate them better and I never over fill that way. When dripping into them, I do overfill on occasion. When that happens it leaks out the battery connector. I usually keep a few tissues in my pocket just in case.

This is normal. Just wipe off the juice. If you are concerned about the cost of juice, you might want to change to carts.

You're now allowing the juice to shift in the filler..chainvaping? I do it all the time and have run into this problem myself. So my solution was to set up 2 PV's with the same juice. Hit one pretty good and when everything starts to fall off, hit the other one while the first on sits a bit. Once everything falls off and doesn't come back, then it's time to top off with 15 (give or take) drops.

Thanks ya'll. I ordered 15 cartos from CCV. I ordered Boge cartos for 510 devices (mine is a Riva). The packages say "510 3.0ohm). I thought since it was for 510s it would be OK and I really had no clue what I really needed anyway. I was looking at cartos on Liberty-Flights and noticed they have 2.0 and 2.5 ohm ones.

When we can afford to get me another setup, I'll definitely set up two PVs for my computer screen chain-vaping sessions. When I first started vaping I said I wouldn't do it in the house. That went out the window a couple of days in. Oops!

If you want to try some modding (or have family/friends who like to tinker), check out the Puck box mod. This mod is designed to use NiMH rechargeable batteries. These are the rechargeable batteries that you can buy at Walmart, Kmart, pharmacies, etc. All items (except maybe a 510 connector,~$1 -$2 online; MadVapes, Good Prophets, etc) are available at your local Radio Shack or home center store. This mod will deliver ~4.5V most of the, if not all, day and work perfectly at 3 ohm. The link in my signature is to a thread on how to build the Puck.

Just a thought :)

That looks too complicated for me to do. Maybe my husband can do it. I'd like to try it out though.
