I have noticed that when I use my pass-thru that my cartomizers taste kind of burnt. The flavor that I get with my regular and short battery is drastically different. Plus, they get really hot, and I have to change the carto frequently, so it dosesn't burn my lips. I'm not sure if it's a faulty pass-thru or if this is the norm. Does anyone else have similar issues, and or soliutions to them?

Hi Jellibean: Sounds like you are cooking your cart's. When the cart start's getting pretty warm ( usaully 3-5 puff for me) it is time to stop and let it rest. Either switch carts or use a differrent one on a battery for awhile. I usaully rotate 3-4 carts while using my passthru. I do the same when using batt's. It helps my cart's to last longer. Good Luck and Enjoy!

Thanks for replying. I don't have that issue with my batteries. The cartomizers on my pass-thru seem to taste burt from the start and get hot on the 3rd puff. But that maybe because I puff faster to try and change the burnt taste. Which I guess causes the rapid heating. It may just be a defective pass-thru. I just don't want to purchase another one if this is the norm. I want to use it to save on batteries as much as I can. Thanks again, because I could actually be the cause of the heating issue...lol!!

I have three PT's and they all burn carts, so, I think it is the norm for 5v USB/electric PT's. I just keep topping off and switching. I am wondering if this is a problem with 5v batts? I presume it is, but would like to know. I never have the problem with 3.7v batteries. I also wonder if there is an easy way to lower the voltage on the PT?... it is so darn convenient!

Thanks for replying. If the 5v battery are the XL ones, then no. I have not had that expirence with those either. I don't use them often, my hubby does, but when I have that burnt taste thing didn't happen. The pass-thrus are convenient, and if you figure out a way to do a lowering voltage thing, post it. I would like to see if that's the reason, because that's what I thought, but again wasn't sure if mine was defective.

Because they are a higher voltage they tend to make carts rather hot and run out quickly. I like using the passthrough when I'm typing up reports and such so I'm not just taking puff after puff, but leaford is working in china on making everything better! So I'm sure this will start to go away as we start to see more improvement in the quality of the products. Hope this helps! He said in a previous post we can expect to see the new passthroughs in the beginning of Feb.

I don't know about you, but I vape way more than I smoked. Try to take less puffs every so often. The nice thing about an ecig is you don't have to "finish" it once you've started it.

In my opinion, carts do burn carts much faster on passthroughs than batteries do, as of now. So you get more vapor production, but less carto life.

Pianoguy, Belletrist, and Kimmy thanks for the replies.
I use my laptop for my pass-thru majority of the time, but hadn't thought about the energy source suppling the PT as a possible cause. That's good to know. I didn't know that there were any issues with the PT that were being tweeked. So, also good to know.
I do change between cartomizers a lot while using the PT as well as my batteries, because I like to mix the flavors, and now I like several different ones so I go from one to the next just because it's fun. Plus, sometimes they are out of my 2 go to cartomizers and I can't find a substitute that satisfies me as much... Wow, that went a bit off topic...lol!! Anyhoo, thanks again you all for the information.

I had similar questions when I got mine last week. I think some of it is the flavor is just a lot different on the pass through. Doesn't taste so much burnt to me now as it did at the beginning.. just different.

Oh, sorry I hadn't seen your post. The biggest problem I have is finding what I'm looking for and or asking a question that has been answered, but I missed it. There are so many stickys that some of the new post get moved to a differnent page. Anyhoo, thanks for replying. The vapor production is better with the PT, but taste is it worth getting used to in your opinion?

I don't like it really... the taste. Much better on the battery. I like the convenience though and the break so my batts can charge.
I have found a couple flavors that taste better on the PT though. The peach and the coconut. I'm guessing it's because they are mild flavors to begin with.

Yeah, that's kinda why I got one to save my batteries. I will try using the peach carto. And see if that helps. Thanks for your thoughts and tips.

The pt makes the carto uncomfortably warm to me and the flavor is definitly different. The carto seems to run dry really quick. It is plugged into a wall plug with two usb outlets and two amp output. I prefer to use the batts. I keep two batts with the same flavor on them and alternate as they warm the carts. Two more batts are on the chargers to change out as needed.

Yeah getting a couple more batteries isn't a bad idea at all.. just been trying to figure out when to throw them in an order. ... Don't want to sacrifice any juice.. guess I'll just have to splurge. Now to decide on a color... damn!

Decisions, decisions. lol Did you see the shorties on special?. $7.50. Hard to beat.

Yeah, I like the batteries better too.. However, it would be nice to to save my battery life as well.
