Hi everyone. I am having a problem changing over to cartomizers. I am using an eGo and have been dripping, but I want to use cartomizers while I'm on the road, so I bought some Boge soft top cartomizers to use. My problem is when I put the cone on the eGo, it has a very hard draw, but with the cone off, it is a very easy draw and too airy. Neither of these conditions are to my liking. Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? I have only tried one of the cartomizers so far. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The cone isnt reamed out in the top to allow the carto any room. They are sized for attomisers, and the wrap put onto cartos makes them JUST wide enough to be a pain with the cone cover. As far as I know, this is only with joye cones, but havent tested slb. Bauway cones work with cartos with no adjustments.
The airflow on atties/cartos comes from small notches on threads and connections for manual batteries. This is also why its important to keep the threads and connections clean. When you put the cone on, it covers these, and the cone seals that area, and creates an air lock. That tiny gap around the top mouthpiece is the only place where air can get back in. The amount of gap between the top of the cone and the atty/carto will directly allow or hinder airflow, and simply add one more area of concern when it comes to proper draw.
You can ream out a cone for the boge cartos, but it IS a pain. A flat file works too, and you just need to file 1/32 of an inch, or real small anyhow, to lower the very top ring of the cone to a slightly wider section. Reaming it out/filing and keeping it even without chipping the paint is a pain.
Another option is to remove the wrap that the carto has on it. They have black sticker, and another clear plastic wrap glued on. Not too difficult to remove, but should give JUST enough gap without adjusting the cone itself and allow for the airflow. Since the cone will cover it, an ugly carto wont make a difference.
And I'm sure youve noticed, you only get a small section of mouthpiece left over with cone on. Drip tips come in handy here to have a better or bigger mouthpiece so your not smooching the cone all day, or again covering the air gap with lips.
Just be sure to remove the drip tip to fill, otherwise you fill right down the air channel. You wouldnt see this, because if the threads of the cone seal out air, it certainly seals IN liquid, so you wont see it leak until you have filled the entire cone.
This should be enough info to help get your cone working with your chosen setup, and answer any problems that could arise.:vapor:
