So I am really trying to love this thing, but I am having a difficult time dialing it in. My new build this morning is a little better than the last, but it still chokes me a bit. This is 26 ga and it came in at 0.9. I got some new 1600 AW IMR batteries from RTD after reading some of your comments to not use the 2100's on any sub ohm coils. I have tried all three size airholes, and still it spits out the hole when I first fire it{50/50 juice} and gags me so I have a hard time vaping it. Can you tell from my pics? Coil too high or too low?
I was actually a little disappointed at the atty I received. I sent mine in to CH to make it BF, but he would not do it and send it back. He sent me a different one, and to me it did not look the same quality..but what do I know...
The posts are awfully close together and one neg. seems loose. This build I used the opposite negative post.

Not sure how much help this will be, but.. those posts being so close together would make me very nervous. I would pick up some of the screws Rob sells for the RM4 (designed for this purpose for an atomic clone).

Have you tried different wire? 28ga to me seems to just work better on some attys. Otherwise your wick appears to have a few stray threads, I try to keep it all very neat/sharp at the ends touching the deck. You could also try a higher VG which might be less likely to spit out the airhole?

Ok..I will play with it, and clean up my wick. I think I might have some of those Rob screws, but maybe only two...hmm. Originally I had a higher vg, sweeter juice. I decided I really don't like it, so I used some creme brulee from Nicoticket this morning instead. It actually spit more with the higher vg juice.
I cannot remember what gauge the first coil was, but it was either 28 or 30 ga.

Some of the pros such as superX may be able to give you better advice on this, but keeping in mind that dual coils halve your resistance.. if you wanted 0.9 you need to build two coils at 1.8 resistance each. I like coils that heat up quickly so would use a higher resistance wire (at least 28 probably 30ga) to achieve 1.8 ohms. It's personal taste again on drill bit size, I like small coils on a 1/16. With 28ga you'd probably need about 12 wraps on that drill bit, with 30ga perhaps 10?

- remember the RM4 is an atomic clone! Have you got other attys, if not then perhaps the RM2 or RM3 for something different? Any a spare door is always a good idea:toast:

I have a CLT and Odin I have not tried yet. I have an RM2 on my other Grand. I am trying to get the atomic to it's best place before I move on to the others. I know this is a much loved atty, so it has to be me. Thank you.

Actually I'm not really a huge fan of my atomic (RM4) - my preferred is a cyclone or RM2. I haven't yet picked up an odin but probably will - given the need to feed the vapemail beast...

With all the hype around the odin it might definitely be worth trying out, but it's a big atty that probably needs dual coils and I would think a lower ohm build to do it justice. If you're comfortable and have appropriate batteries (only then) give it a try! I have an RM3 but I haven't really used it so can't comment personally - feedback I've read is positive though, it's got a small chamber like the RM2 so if you want a dual coil atty that is aimed towards flavour production (over vapour production such as the odin) it might be worth trying.
