I'm a fan of the RM3 dual version. For me, it's like a RM2 on steroids - small chamber, tighter draw (mouth2lung draws recommended), great flavour, and more vapor. It has a small deck to work with, and some folks find that to be an issue. It would also mean using dual setups, ideally around .5ohms, which may or may not be to your liking.

The single version of the RM3 would not be a significant upgrade from the RM2, IMHO.

Hi Keepsmiling! ** waves **

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:
1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator

The Steam Engine is much more than just a coil calculator. I consider it my "All in One" vaping calculator.
Thanks and hi Susan!:)

Late in... have dual coils at .58 ohm on my Atomic right now, but it's in reserve (not on a Reo at the moment). Just can't get away from the smaller footprint BF's that are doing it all in spades on all of them. Have 6 extra's of them in reserve as well.

Note to self... need to ask Rob if he has extra pos/neg posts/screws, ceramics, etc for the RM2's for sale (need 2-3 sets of them).

Got my hands on an RM4 today, and I probably just got lucky (I kind of suck at building coils) but KABLAM - this is hitting far better than I actually expected.

I only had 28g, I went 9 wrap dual on 2mm, the squeezed the coils, landing at 0.77 ohms.

I still would love some tips to save me experimenting:

1. What effect would raising or lowering the coils probably have?

2. Do you get leaking? The design has me worried about leaking - haven't had trouble yet, but want to know how to keep it that way!

For ME, this is a lung-hit. Even with the smaller holes. Any airier and I wouldn't like it.
Also, for me, any more vapor would be "just for show". LOL

Most of the time, I'm vaping tiny atties, tight draws, single coils (I have Cyclone and Divo)
But I AM enjoying this RM4 - and I LOVE the way it looks.

i run Atomics in 2 different ways. 26g duals at about 0.4Ω, wide open and airy with the drip tip that comes with it - that's for clouds.

But if i am being conservative at work i dump that drip tip and fit a shorty and close off the airholes - when it turns into a MTL hitter for flavour. It CAN be run as a single coil, but i've never used it like that - because i think the size of the chamber compared to say a RM2, needs duals.

Mine don't leak unless you really give it a fistful of squonk. And i line my coils up dead centre of the airholes - i like to see them thru there. I realise that looks 'high' when you build it and your wick tails will need to hang down, but if you make slanted coils, it's easy.

If you lower the coils it's a more flavourful vape and less harsh. Coils above the airholes imo is a bad idea. It makes the wicking harder and depending on your wick material, a dry hit can be a 'must squonk and wait a minute' to a 'bleh - that ruined my day'!

Thanks - that all helps a LOT...

I don't think I'd try to run it single, when I've got those other atties ready, with small chambers and single holes all ready-to-go!

And I DID get lucky - guessed and placed coils right at hole height, with a very slight angle, and wick drops down on the deck and is working great...

What i like about the Atomics is that possible duality of use - also being a 19mm atty - if you slide the Reo door up, that's fine. If you use a bigger atty (and i do) - like a 22mm one - then the door will only go down.

I don't find it a big deal, but some do.

If i want a single coil atty, then i use a RM2 and HRH only uses those - but she vapes at 1.5Ω and doesn't give a toss for clouds at all. I find the Atomics dead easy to build because of that coil height.

I will say that swapping from a RM2 to bigger atties is quite a change, because builds that you have done for ages just seem weak somehow. I don't know if that's just because you can vape a bit of wet string in an RM2 and it'll be fine, or something particular to bigger atties.

When i tried even bigger atties - which are basically cloud-chasing gear - the entire method changed and it took me about 3 or 4 builds until i got the flavour and cloud ratio to how i liked it.
My - 'just bung a microcoil in there and it'll be fine" didn't work well.

Sounds like you hit it first go, but then you're not new to coils and all that, so you had a decent clue!

I really need to break out my dual coil attys again and give it a go. This one had to go back after a post came loose. I was sent back my original and since it got here I have not rebuilt it. I had a couple bad dual builds. This one was probably beginners luck really.
The dual coil attys that I have, but have not tried yet include the nuppin,& the odin. I also have a TF and BF CLT.
I really liked this atty. The flavor is killer. Maybe I will give it another go today. Thanks for your help supT.
