I love your Golden puppy! We used to breed Goldens, but now have Newfs (rescue and show dogs), and 5 middle-aged Goldens. I wanted less active as I got older. Well, I got that, but got more labor-intensive (GROOMING). LOL

I'm a Canon girl. :) Unfortunately, I don't use my camera or "good" ("L") lenses enough. There's as much a learning curve with those lenses as there is with the camera!! hahaha I still haven't gotten to the point that I can take a decent shot with the 24-70mm. And inside? Forget it. Of course I don't have the lighting I need for that. Outside, I've gotten some great shots...and many really really bad ones. :)

I love to take action/outdoor shots (usually of the dogs). The rest, for me...meh.

Sainted, I am pretty much a glamour and portrait photographer. My film camera was a Nikon so it just made sence to stick with it. Same lenses. Canon would be my next choice for sure. Both great cameras in my opinion. Being from Rochester, the home of Kodak, I wish they would have kept up. OH WELL.

Ardeagold, I love goldens. Jester just turned a year old and he's my baby. We have four dogs but he is my baby. Newfs are AWESOME dogs, and so beautiful.

Keep playing with that camera. Start using manual mode and mess with your setting and your shots will get better with time.

I've used manual mode "some" of the time. I tend to use either Av (aperture) or Tv (shutter) modes more than anything. I'll keep working on it! :)

Yes, Goldens are wonderful dogs!! Always so happy and willing/eager to learn. Newfs are definitely awesome, but are a bit more "stubborn". Plus harder to photograph...hahaha! I have one black and white (Landseer) and she drives my camera nuts.
