Hi everyone,

I'm a non-smoker, so I know nothing about cigarettes... I'm trying to find an e-cigarette as a present for my dad. He is 56 and has been smoking for some 30 years. He is using 555 cigarettes now (if anyone knows?) and wants some strong flavor. That's all I know. Can you please suggest me some kind of e-cigarettes, which are affordable and easy to find in the UK?

Thanks a bunch!

Kat.

I second the Riva the 1100 is here Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid it's not at all uncomfortable - you can indeed get "cig" sized e-cigs - the 510 mega and the Kr808d-1 being the best of the bunch - however the battery life on them is terrible. For one of the best vapes around i would recommend

The riva 1100
Boge LR cartomizers (last about a week to two each)
Drip tip for comfort
e-liquid (honestly get a sample pack to find one he likes)

His taste will probably change if he moves onto vaping instead and at some point the tobacco type liquids just won't do it for him - Remember taste is subjective some that sound and smell wonderful taste awful and some that smell horrible can vape lovely..
use ECF10 at vapeescape for 10% off

Hi katling and welcome to ECF. It's a good thing you're doing for your Dad. Liberty-Flights is a reputable ECF listed vendor and the Riva is a great Ecig. If you do purchase from LF don't forget to click on the 20% discount code. As for looks many don't care about that and as one prominent Vet stated- "The closer an Ecig looks to an analog the less performance you will receive from it."
good Luck and stay in touch, Vapoor.

Hello & welcome Katling :)

The Riva that Warlike has linked to is a very good e-cig. It is more cigar in size, but the smaller real cig lookalikes have very short battery life between recharges. However, there is a new smaller e-cig on the UK market, it again doesn't look like a real cig, but it packs a punch for it's size - the SD Keyring - It does only come with one battery though, but at only £12.49 (Use discount code ECF10 for 10% off) you could buy 2 of them :D

The SD KeyRing Ecig £12.49 - Basic Vaping Kits - SD KeyRing Ecig Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Although liberty flights is an excellent vendor the 20% off is for US members only and isn't visible on the UK site

Kat, this is what I got. KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

I'm around your dad's age. The Kgo is nice because the battery charge lasts a day to a day and a half. Get a drip tip, some 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers and some Dekang 555. It's one of my favorite juices. Hoosier carries all of that stuff.

Sandy

Excellent suggestion but they are also in the US and the Kgo isn't widely available in the UK

Warlord, I still think the Riva you linked to would be best though for Katling's dad to start off with :)

Possibly but the keyring is a great way for toe dipping incase he doesn't like it - if he does then there is bigger out there but if he doesn't it's less of a waste of money for him :)

I just wish the SD Keyring came with 2 batteries - it's just kind of ingrained in me not to recommend starter kits with only one battery. However, the price is so good & the reviews of it brilliant :D

Welcome to ECF katling! It's a very good thing you're trying to do for your dad! I'm not going to try to recommend a PV for your dad as there are already many good suggestions for you. I think what will help you a lot with getting him off the "stinkys" is to educate yourself as much as you can concerning the hardware and techniques used. Vaping is not smoking and does require knowledge that he will not have. Becoming somewhat familiar with how to use what you decide to buy for him will make his transition much easier. Good luck to you both!
