My charger died and I don't think I can go 3 days without vaping. I really don't want to go back to analogs. Is there any way to fix it or build some kind of mod that will charge a battery?

I wouldn't mind sacrificing one of my manual 902 batteries into a PT but I don't have a soldering iron.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You mentioned 902s in your post. Is that your model? I have 510 chargers down here in Rockledge, and I can overnight you one (a loaner) if it will help. Let me know.

Yeah rocket, 902's. Thanks for the offer though. I rewired the charger and am trying that now. If that doesn't work I'll go buy a soldering iron tomorrow and try my hand at building a mod.

Its not so much a 'better' way as that way will explode your battery - theres really no way to 'fix' that charger unless you can see a resistor or something on the PCB shorted and you can replace it. Your best bet is to make a passthrough, same concept, but use a battery connector and a switch and hook your atomizer up to it. This way you can just vape off of 5v USB and ignore batteries altogether until your new charger shows up, although chances are you won't want to go back to anything but 5v.

Thanks for the heads up. I really appreciate everyone's help. Do you know if I can salvage the switch in one of my 902 manual batteries for the passthrough?

Wow, cant believe I did it! Didn't want to wait til tomorrow to go to radio shack so I went to Walmart and got a soldering iron and scrounged parts from around the house and car. This is what I ended up with. It used to be a Nintendo DS car charger.

It actually works... and works well. Thanks for the help.

Just wondering, there is no chance of this thing blowing up in my face right?

There is always a chance ..... with using something that wasn't intended for what your using it for , with respect to the nintendo not have the same capability of causing harm in retrospect to the use for an e-cig..
But. as long as that particular charger doesnt have a colapsible circuit built in and there is no relapse for a surge in the circuit- I don't think that you will have a problem. TM

Wow...and people wonder why I'm a rocket scientest and not an electrician. I consider myself a reasonably well-educated engineer, but this stuff always makes my eyeballs bleed!

Good on ya for coming up with that mod! I'm definitely impressed.
