Hobo clone. The insulator burned through on one side. Is this still safe to use on a mech mod?

I have a Hobo clone that did the same thing but I noticed that burnt taste and smell before It got to the point that yours got to. I try to keep the coils farther away from it. But from the looks of yours I would be leary of using it. I thought I seen replacement insulators some were but can't recall where. Might be able to make one too. but for the price of clones I am not sure its worth it.

You dry burned it too hot, it melts the cheap insulators that the clone manufacturers use if you burn them too hot, I own 10 of these style clones and have not had this issue get this bad with any of them, build the coils a decent distance from the insulator and don't dry burn them for too long and everything will be fine, when the device is wicked and working it's not really possible to get the coils hot enough to melt the insulator.
