Welcome tulula and congrats on your new REO. For anyone reading this..... for door only and for anodized, polished, or tumbled you can soak the door in a glass partially filled with acetone for a few hours and it will loosen the super glue. Fill glass only enough to be slightly above magnet when door is placed upside down into glass. I highly discourage soaking the REO body in acetone as the black delrin cover and button can be affected (melted) if left in acetone for too long. Been there, done that when I left a REO soaking, upside down, in a glass with acetone over night, by mistake. If anodized door is left for only a few hours the acetone won't affect the finish.
I haven't done the acetone soak with powder coated so can't recommend for or against. I've done several over the past couple of years. A couple I did because I put the magnet in wrong despite marking them. Some of the very first REOs had magnets that didn't match the newer REOs and REO replacement door so those are the ones I soaked in acetone. One, that I left for only a few hours was unaffected by the acetone but the one left overnight had to go in to REO Spa for rebuild because black delrin cover and button were deformed.
Do not soak any WOOD door in acetone!!!!!!
Feisty Alice
