I'd choose a 12mg at the most and a 6mg if using the 1 ohm coils. The 1.5 ohm coil may require an 18mg option.(not at first though).

If the mg is a little low the user simply vapes more.
If the level is too high they will feel ill if they puff too often.

Everyone is different, most do not nail it down perfectly on the first purchase. We simply do not know what is optimal yet, that is why I advise a 12 and a 6 in two different flavours.

I prefer erring on the low side for a few reasons.

1. The user can simply puff more often.
2. The vape is harsher with the higher levels which will cause coughing, discomfort and nausea if used too much.
3. One can practice, perfect their technique without fear of getting too much nic.
4. New starters tend to vape a lot in the beginning, it's the novelty of it. (as long as they are not choking and coughing and getting nic sick from it.) Cheers.

I now have got another heavy smoker (a couple cigs per hour) who is considering vaping. Are there good UK e-liquid sites worth recommending? Ideally with links to the product page as there're just too many brands/options to choose from on many sites I found. The coil is probably going to be 1.5ohm. Flavours are tobacco and close to tobacco, and a range of nic levels between medium (0.5 cig/hour) to heavy (2 cigs/hour)

if you're going to quit smoking, why get a tobacco flavour? why not go for something yummy! it's what I did, lol, as soon as I learned I could get anything under the sun... yeah I tried and loved a ton.

oh and dj is our resident limey... I'm a canuck can't help you there.

Don't get me wrong here, what you are trying to do is noble.
But I've found if the person/people you are trying to set up to quit smoking have zero "skin in the game" in this process they will have an easier out to give up quickly and invest absolutely zero effort.

The person wanting to quit needs enough motivation to do what you are trying to do for them.

If vaping does work for one or even both of them be prepared to support, research and perhaps even buy for them on every step of their journey. When anything goes wrong with their set-up it is highly likely you will be the one they call as they do not know where to even start. They will be lazy vapers unwilling to explore and educate themselves unwilling to invest any of there "skin"(time, effort, money, trial and error)
in the game on their quest to become smoke free.

Why should they? You want to do it all for them anyways.
Believe me when I say this "it will get old for you quite quickly".

If you can accept the above demands on yourself, continue on your journey to do the journey for your friends. Just realize though, they may not be with you at the end.
I wish you the best of luck. Cheers.

I've not ordered liquid from them, but have used them for other things - they were really good to deal with, with excellent customer service :)

I am worried that they may be put off by something that doesn't taste like tobacco, that's why I'm only looking for flavours that are close to tobacco.

I am prepared that they may give up on first try or that I may have to invest more time in this.

I'm still not sure what e-liquid brands to buy, do expensive ones usually mean better quality/taste?

...

There is kinda 2 Schools of thought when it comes to something like this.

One is that if it Doesn't taste like what they are used to, they Won't Like it.

The Other is that if it Doesn't taste like what they are used to, they Won't Like it.

Seems like they are Both the same. But they are Not. Because for many People, many Tobacco Flavors just don't taste like the Real Thing. It's like the Difference between a Diet Coke and a Regular Coke.

I can't help you on what Flavor someone Might like. But if someone likes Sweets and or Candy, they might like a Desert Flavor or a Fruit Flavor. Hard to say.

And Price doesn't Necessarily mean it is Better Quality or Tastes Better.

It's not often I choose to pay more, but the shop formerly known as "Cloud 9" is the best in the business.
Only Vape Escape could hold a candle, and they threw in the towel for understandable reasons.

Yes and No. Depends where you buy. If you ask Google, then absolutely NOT. Google will send you to a small selection of shops who pay to be front of the queue.

The liquid from the £1 e-liquid company is at least as good as the £4.99/£3.99 stuff from the usual suspects...
There are a few 'big boys' in this game (and I don't mean Totally Wicked by the way) who call their ordinary liquid "premium" and there is nothing different about it to the normal stuff you might find in supermarkets... and that is tobacco company dishwater.

OK, I'm going to buy more non-tobacco flavours.

The £1 e-liquid company is onepoundeliquid presumably? I'll try them first given the price and quality.

Can you Sample e-Liquids in Vapes shops the UK?

If you can, this might be something to Check Out if you have some Vape Shops near You and your Friend.

I have not seen Vape shops near me, or anywhere, but that's probably because I normally buy stuff online.

Might want to do a little Google Searching. Could be one Near to you.

And if they Offer Sampling, you could take you friend there if it Looks like a Nice Shop.

I'm a fan of the Innokin Products
I suggest the MVP3 tremendous long battery life.

No batteries is much less complicated and everyone should have a
micro usb port

The MVP3 is so inexpensive that in 2 years when the batteries give out
you just buy a new unit.

It's available reasonably in the UK
iTaste MVP3 PRO KIT

I lent an MVP to an elderly person and she took to it like a fish in water.

Your questions are surely not trivial at all...and they make tons of sense!

It's a cardinal question: How can someone change from stinky and extremely dangerous cigarettes to much healthier consumption of nicotine and flavor with e-cigs?

If someone thinks: "My VaporGiant with stacked 26650s...is well for me, it will also do for the person who wants to quit killing smoking and change over to vaping!"

...thatone has a weird kind of thinking.

Nope. Doesn't work at all.

It should be convenient...it should satisfy...that's it.

Most of cigalikes - things that look like normal cigarettes...with some illumination frontsided...are scrap. Makes the willing changer go to unchange...and to further smoking poisonsticks.

One well thoughtaboutit recommendation from me myself is that:

$30.95 Authentic Innokin Endura T22 Starter Kit - 4.5ml / 1.5ohm / stainless steel + glass + aluminum alloy at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Nice and easy...and not so expensive as some "capsuled" scrap...imo.

Edit:

German overtook from british vaper...does fully agree with his post!

I haven't used one, but that looks like what most new vapers I see are using. Looks like the coil is a decent size to hold on to? And of course, if they have any problems, just come on back and pick our brains.

Just to give an update. I had Endura T22, 1.5ohm Subvod mega and eGo AIO D22 XL in my shortlist and I decided to go for 1.5ohm Subvod mega which has the biggest tank and highest battery capacity among them. I also bought some e-liquids of various flavours from onepoundeliquid

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my questions. Looking back I think some of my questions probably looked stupid for someone with vaping experience, but you still patiently answered those questions, I really appreciate that.

I have a suggestion to ECF owner, given the lack of credible e-cig reviews online and the abundance of supportive vaping experts here, it may be a good idea for ECF to utilize this resource to create a review site or a community-maintained wiki site which I think many vaping beginners would find useful.
