1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine-
Yes

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
I started vaping 9/1/2009 and quit smoking 9/3/2009

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
I smoked for over 38 years.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
2 days! I am absolutely AMAZED that I was successful. I had tried many times over the last 25 years or so to quit smoking (patches, gum, lozenges, acupuncture, hypnosis, therapy, etc.), and nothing ever worked for me. This was the EASIEST way to quit smoking I have ever tried, and I now recommend it to everyone who will listen to me.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
I started with the 18mg, but as a heavy smoker that wasn't enough for me, so I went up to mostly 24mg with occasional use of the 36mg. I now use both 24mg and 18mg. I am not in any great hurry to lower the nicotine, since I want to make sure I have solid success with this. But I can see myself getting weaned off the nicotine over the long-term.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I currently vape about the same amount that I used to smoke, but when I first started, I vaped a lot more than smoking, almost like using a pacifier. That changed, however, when I found the right nicotine levels and flavors.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
Started at 24 mg, now down to 18-22 mg.
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Started 1 July. Tried anti-depression pills (Xanax?) and the patch. No luck.
B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
30 years.
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
First e cig (Blu) not that good. Smoked and vaped 50/50 for 5 weeks until I got a different model (510). Stopped smoking the day it arrived.
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. For example, I started with 36MG and in 1 month , I went to 24 MG. Now, I am working myself down to 18 MG because I have primarily been smoking tobacco flavors to make sure that I am not tempted for an analog. ( at least, I figure that I would be a little more grounded with the tobacco flavors at first.)
I also want to lower my nic, not only to get away from nic but, I tried several candy flavorings that tasted bitter because of the nic. I eventually want to go down to 0 nic and especially am looking forward to several candy flavors pure taste rather than being corrupted by the nic juice.
See #1.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
Vape more often, but for less time. Used to smoke cigs all the way to the filter every hour, now I only vape a few times a day for a few minutes at a time. I chain-vape pretty heavily when at the bars and at night, though. I used to chain-smoke the same.

Thank you for yout Time, VAPERS UNITE!! - Time for a Revolution
Tom

Good luck!

I would like to thank all of you for your replies an all the detail in your description.. I am sure everyone of your feel the same way about how this device has improved your lifes and made time more useful to you. Just to be able to breath and no longer cough up a lung in the mornings is a blessing. I hope all of you continue vaping and stay away from those disgusting coffin nails.

1. Yes.
A. Last analog was July 28th @ 9:15am, tried it for about a week before this. I have tried patches, gum, lozenges, chantix, zyban... I think that is it.
B. Since 18, turned 34 this year.
C. About a week
D. I started with 34MG (yes 34). Dropped to about 6mg with JC 0mg, and 18mg mixing. Now I am at about 3ml of 1-2mg liquid a day. (Morning or evening I may add a drop of 4mg or two. So 1/20th of 4-8mg added to daily usage per drop, maybe 10 drops/day added.)
2. I just use it all day because the nic is so low (3ml/day of 1-2mg/ml, and I am a happy camper. I enjoy vaping more than just the nic. I think the nic helps, because if I cut it too low I tend to have to add more.

Yes.

If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Started January 2009.
Previously tried gum and patches and Wellbutrin.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
On and off for 41 years, did manage to stay off cigs for 11.5 years 1992-2003, used the patch and tons of willpower that time.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
5 days

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
'high' - supposedly 16mg. Now I use 18mg most of the time, sometimes 16, 20 & 24.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
Hard to say, I vape at will all day, but I think I get about the same amount of nic as I did from cigs. I tried to limit myself to one cig an hour before.

My brain goes all foggy without nic, so I intend to continue to use it.

Looking forward to seeing the results!

Yes

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Cold Turkey, Gum - longest I lasted was 3 days. I couldn't function at all. By the third day, I couldn't drive or take care of my children. I simply couldn't not think. With e-cigs, it's been almost 6 months now, with no desire to go back.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
34 years, 1 to 2 pacs a day

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
immediately - I had no intention of giving up analogs, I just wanted to try the e-cig. I just liked it better right away. I still have almost a full carton of analogs sitting in my pantry.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
started at 24mg, then pretty quickly down to 18mg and now at 11mg.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I do vape more often than I smoked cigs. I think because it tastes good and it doesn't make me feel out of breath or bad at all.

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

I've started vaping almost a month ago. I have tried the gum, cold turkey, and I didn't like the gum and cold turkey only worked when I was sick and stuck in bed all day, but went right back to analogs.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
I've smoked analogs for 9 years, my first one though was when I was 11. But I wasn't active at the time. I was more active at 16, and I grew up with smokers so that didn't help much lol

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

It's still a working progress for me. I was a pack a day smoker and cut down to 4 or 5 analogs a day. I still use them and I hope maybe the next PV I get will get me to quit completely.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
16 mg... but I think either I need a higher dose or I need a better e-cig.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

When I first started vaping, I was under the impression that you vape as much as you smoke. I think I vape more than I smoke, but the only real danger for me on that is burnt out atty, dying battery, then I just go back to the yucky analogs... grr... trying though! lol

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Started vaping in June 2009,quit cold turkey twice which lasted a couple of months. Also tried patches with no luck.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
24 years

7 weeks

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.
Started on 18mg,which wasn't high enough for me to completely quit analogues,so after 7 weeks moved to 36mg for 2 days, which was enough for me to quit then moved to 30mg,28mg,26mg,24mg over several weeks.
2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?I smoked heavy...i vape heavy.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
Yup, still use nic.
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? Gum - nausesous, Patch - allergic to adhesive broke out in rashes wherever I put them. Wellbutrin - hated it, made me feel weird and lethargic
B. How long had you been smoking analogs? 36 years
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig) Bought an SE Gold, hated it but played around with it for 2 weeks while I got new equipment and liquid stock. Quit when I finally finished that last pack of smokes.
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. Started with 11 mg - wasn't strong enough, went to 18mg for all day and 24mg just in the morning. Used mostly tobacco flavors. 1 month in tried some fruity flavors, then tobacco flavors tasted nasty for the most part. Jump forward 3 more months and I now use 18mg and 11mg mostly. Some 24mg in stressful times when I would have chain smoked. Eventually, I will drop nic levels to 0mg, but its on my terms and when I feel able to with the least amount of discomfort.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

I vape heavier than I smoked for three reasons - because I can, it doesn't bother anyone and because it tastes good. If I want to put it down for periods of time I will use the 18mg - 24mg nic and vape like I smoked.

Yes, I still use nicotine. Started vaping at 24mg down to 12mg.

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?
Started vaping September 23.

Chantix-didn't finish was afraid of side effects.
Auricular Therapy-worked well quit for 2.5 years.
Nicocure-Didn't work for me.
Hypnosis-Didn't work for me.
I also tried this other thing that put holes in your cigarette filter, forget what it was called. It didn't work at all!

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?
25 years
C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
Approx. 2 weeks

I started at 24mg and I am currently vaping 12mg. I am not sure if I want to cut down any further than 12mg at this time. I do favor tobacco flavor still.
2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
At first I was chain vaping. Now I think I vape about the same as I used to smoke.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,

Yes, 18mg/ml or 24mg/ml. I vape more often with the 18mg/ml than the 24mg/ml.

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

Cold turkey a couple times. A cig in the morning for about a month both times.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?

13 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

About 1 week, only a smoked a cig first thing in the AM that week. I still vape a drop of 36mg/ml first thing in the AM on some days when the 18 or 24mg/ml does not seem to cut it.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression.

I started with 18 and 24. Started with tobacco flavors, but the seller gave me some coca-cola flavor. I like the cola better, but I threw some menthol crystals in there because it still was not all that good. It turn up tasting like altoids and I liked it. I moved real quick to no tobacco flavors. Red Bull, Rum, Chocolate Martini and peach are some of my favorites.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explanation of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

Hmmm I am pretty active, and I would say I vape as much as I smoked. Though during my vaping sessions, I believe I vape less than a cig amount. Though sometimes sitting at the computer I just randomly puff off my passthough. So I believe I consume less more often, thereby evening it out.

I still smoke cigarettes, but have cut the number from about 40/day to less than 10/day

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

August 2009 I started vaping
nicotine gum - aggravated dental work
nicorette patches - didn't work well, then not at all after 2 weeks
Wellbutrin - didn't work for me
Cold turkey - LOL not even 1 day

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?

40 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
N/A reduced immediately

(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. For example, I started with 36MG and in 1 month , I went to 24 MG. I usually vape 12 MG, with occasional 24 MG. I think I need to up the nic to quit analogs, but I haven't hit on the right level. Higher nic seems to adversely affect me. I am working on it. My goal is to quit smoking, although I have no real intention of quitting vaping. If I do not completely quit analogs, I feel better with the reduction of the number I smoke. My doctor knows I vape and is not opposed to that since my lungs sound better than they have in 10 years even though I have not been able to completely quit analogs.

I also want to lower my nic, not only to get away from nic but, I tried several candy flavorings that tasted bitter because of the nic. I eventually want to go down to 0 nic and especially am looking forward to several candy flavors pure taste rather than being corrupted by the nic juice.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I think I do. Vaping doesn't completely control the urge to smoke for me so I think I use more trying to control the urge. I think there is more than nicotine that is addictive in analogs. Some research suggests that other alkaloids are missing from the e liquid that is currently available.[/COLOR]

I use nicotine in the form of "e-juice"

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

I started vaping about 2-3 weeks ago. I have tried: nicotine patches in all progressions, nicotine gum, the shot, and various kinds of smoking products assumed to be lower in nicotine.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs?

15 years.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

Not applicable to me. I quit analogs immediately.

I have tried various flavors including most popular tobacco flavors in 11mg to 18mg increments. I use a rose flavor 0mg to cut some flavors down and\or when I want to cool off my nicotine usage.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?

I vape less then I used to smoke analogs.

Yes i do.

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome?

Sept.2009.
I tried cold turkey and lasted a day.
Also tried the patch and just ended up getting more nicotine in my system (It seems the mechanics of smoking was part of the habit).
B. How long had you been smoking analogs?

40 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs?
As soon as I got my E Cig.
(If you continued after getting your e-cig)

I started out on 16 MG but went to 24 MG because I was vaping a lot more than I thought I should.
I am now alternating between 24 and 16MG and will be down to 16 as soon as I run out of 24MG.
I eventually want to go down to 0 nic.
2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise?
I think I do. just because I can now vape anywhere in the house when we only smoked outside or in our bedroom before.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- If so, Yes

A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? June 19, 2009. I tried patches, Wellbutrin, Chantix, and cold turkey. I quit with each method but once I quit using the product, the urge to smoke came back. Cold turkey lasted three months which is about average for each time I quit.

B. How long had you been smoking analogs? 42 years

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs? same day I started using the ecig, although I have had an analog occasionally if needed.

(If you continued after getting your e-cig)
D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. I'm not sure, I started with Njoy Npro and used the carts that came with it. Probably 24mg was the strongest. I now have a variety of mg and use different strengths during different parts of the day. High in morning, low to 0 in evening. The highest I use is 24mg.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise? I vape more even with 0 nic. I vape heavier than I smoked probably because I can do it in places I couldn't before. I recently retired so have more time at home now too.

Hope that helps.

1. In comparison, For those of you that just vape now and have quit analogs entirely. Do you still use nicotine- Yes, but only from my PV

If so,
A. When did you start vaping and what other cessation methods have you attempted, and what was their outcome? Started vaping in April 2009.

Gum, didnt work. Patch, didn't work. To afraid to try Chantix because of the side effects

B. How long had you been smoking analogs? 32 years, 2+ packs per day at the end.

C. How long did it take you to quit smoking analogs? About a month. I had a hard time giving up my first morning cigarette, after dinner cigarette and before bedtime cigarette.

D. Based on your memory.. What MG of nic did you start with and give a brief synopsis of your progression. - I started with 20mg and have worked down to 12mg for normal use. During stress I will use a few drops of 24mg or 36mg.I probably won't ever totally quit vaping but will eventually get to a lower nicotine level.

2. How many of you vape heavier than you used to smoke analogs and give your explaination of why you figure you are a heavier vaper, otherwise? At first I vaped nonstop. I have since cut that way back and vape about like I used to smoke. A few hits and put it down for awhile.
