I got one from monoprice and it DOES NOT WORK. My passthrough works fine when connected to my laptop, but connected through this adapter it starts to flash as soon as I try to take a drag. I was hoping to use it at work, where the USB ports on the PC don't seem to produce the vapor my laptop provides.

Hi Stray,

You Should Really Be Plugging The USB Pass Through Plug Into A Separate Powered USB Hub (not directly into your Computers USB Port) or AC to USB Powered Adapter (Not The Crap One Listed Here) to Avoid Issues To Your Computer / USB Ports. You Will Also Get Full Power Through The USB Pass Through This Way. It Makes A Big Difference And You Won't Have To Worry About Damage..

Is there something that uses AC power to charge the hub, so I don't even have to involve my computer? Just charge it up, plug in the pass through and vape away all darn day? I'm tired already of doing the battery charging shuffle.

If You are on your computer a lot a standard powered USB Hub is Fine, Just plug directly into that, in fact u don't even have to plug it into your computer, just be sure that it is plugged in the wall (just thought I mention that in case u had one).

OK, Now The AC to USB Adapter, There Are Many Different Models & Brands Out There, Here Is The Meaning & Info Just So U Know or for Others:

AC to USB Powered Adapter (AC meaning Plug Into Standard Wall Outlet, to USB Meaning Standard USB Female Port That U Plug The Male USB Plug Into).

AC To USB Adapter Specs:

- Input 110 to 120 VAC (Thats Standard Ne Need To Worry, as long as it fits in your home outlet in case of different country).

- Now The Most Important Is The OutPut:

The Output Should Be 5 Volts DC with a 1000 mA (Milli-Amp) Output, That is The Important Part! The Volts Should Stay at 5 Volts and The mA can go from 1000 - 2500 mA (2500 max range, stay with 1000ish, the Passthrough only draws what is needed for power which is around 1000 mA)

Some OEM Apple iPod Adapters Have This Exact Rating. There Are Many Brands (Belkin, Griffin, Targus) But Stick With A Name Brand and Avoid Generic, ie Coby (I don't like them,). You Can See On The Forums What Others Are Using.

Maybe The Simpliest Way Besides Bestbuy Retail (Usually Expensive) Is Amazon and Search AC to DC 5 Volt Adapter, iPhone Charger or Similar. You Can Bargain Hunt On Ebay, But U may Not Get What They Are Actually Advertising, so just beware. Again I Don't Suggest Generic, Usually u will pay for it in the end for generic (static, overheating, over or under powering, destroying device, possible fire hazard).

It's a sweetie! Now I can charge a battery with my USB charger, and use it for the Passthrough I ordered today. Talk about being a Princess. LOL

BTW, if anyone is interested, Totally Wicked got in their 510 Titan USB Passthrough's in stock. And they also got the Titan PCC's!

For A Mobile Unit A Lot Of People Like The Kensington USB Battery Pack Model with Similar Specifications (5 Volt with 1000 mA Plus), Except There Will Be The Battery Actual Size Measured in mAh which are 1500 to 3500 mAh (larger is bigger, bigger last longer). You Can Charge Up The Battery Pack Through Your Home / Office Wall Outlet and When Charged it Is Mobile So You Could Carry It With You, just Plug Your USB PassThrough Into the USB Port On The Battery Pack. The USB Type Battery back Can Also Charge Cell Phones If U Use A USB Adapter or Have Other Adapters, Some Units Even come with a short cord with some common Cell Phone Charging tips.

Yes, If Its The Powered Type (Plugs into Wall Outlet) USB Hub That Should Work Fine, Be Sure Its AC Plug is Plugged Into The Wall & Your Passthrough Is Connected To The Hub & Not The Computer USB Port.

If U Have A Separate Battery Charger (Non-USB) for Your E-Cigs, Use That Instead of The USB Hub (My Suggestion & Preference), USB Hubs Are Built For Power & Not Charging (u can charge with it, but I don't care for this method). Some of these companies are just ripping people off and giving them a USB Type Charger Without the Power Pack For It!, They Save Money & People Do Not Know Better and Assume Thats How It Works (it should come with the AC to USB Wall Adapter for the USB Charger).

I have definitely gone the gamut with devices and juice.

Here's what I've learned:
I would NEVER plug my passthrough into my computer!!! I am a software engineer and could never recoup the loss that could potentially result from a power surge with these finicky devices. I bought a Belkin 4 port USB hub that plugs directly into a wall outlet when I'm at the computer. I also bought 2 Kensington Portable Power Pack for Mobile Devices when they were on sale for $39 at bestbuy.com. After fully charged with frequent vaping one Kensington lasts 2 days before needing another charge. I love the way it lets me be mobile at home when needed.

As for devices - I MUST HAVE THAT THROAT HIT - so after tons of money buying various styles of e-cigs that sometimes and sometimes not gave a good throat hit, I found jantyusa.com and bought the KISSBOX kit and the KISSBOX USB passthrough, and the DURA-C kit. Oh my lucky stars - that manual switch is absolutely a must (IMO) for a great consistent throat hit!

As for juice - I've also tried various liquids from different vendors but I keep going back to Totally Wicked's 18 mg flavors. Their Menthol mixed with a touch of Hilton is my favorite! ruyandirect.com's Menthol and Hilton are my second favorite.

I also rarely use cartridges. I just drip 4-5 drops of juice right on the atomizer, put the mouth piece on and I'm good to go!
