Hi, i am vaping for 1 or 2 months my first mod was a joyetech pen mod and i decided to get myself a vaporesso pm80 mod but when i use my mod in any watt 10w or 30 doesn't matter it hurts my throat and i can't vape it for even 5 second i instantly cough but i don't have any problems with my friends istick pico i can vape it up to 15 20 seconds. What can be the problem with my mod? Thanks

Hello @Hinata-Chan, it could be a few things.

It could be the Vegetable Glycerine / Propylene Glycol ratio of the liquid that you're using, It could also be that the setup isn't a good fit for your vaping style or it could be a combination of both.

You may want to try using the 1.2 ohm or 0.8 ohm coils, personally I'm thinking that the 1.2 ohm coils are the best place to start though.

You'll probably want to try liquids with higher levels of VG, as it's much smoother. But you'll get more visible vapour.

And it's an issue that I've been hearing a lot with pod mods @Hinata-Chan, leaking or seepage. All pods seem affected by it though to one extent or another.

You may want to keep an eye out for the Freemax Twister 30W kit with Fireluke 22 tank, as it may be of interest to you as the tank can be used with other mods as well. Which is always useful.

And the coils are SS904L mesh in 0.5 ohm, 1.0 ohm and 1.5 ohm resistances. And folks who have managed to get hold of early samples have said that the MTL (not so cloudy vaping style) was very nice indeed.

Hi and welcome,

What is the nicotine level of the juice you are using?
How long did you smoke and how any per day?

FYI: the Istick pico is a battery device.
Which tank is being used with the Pico?
What is the resistance of the coil on the pico?
How many watts are being used?
What is the nicotine content of the juice used with the pico?

Cheers

I think pm80 is not a pod mod

Sounds like dry hits to me. If your coil isn't wicking up your juice, your coil is getting hot and burning whatever wick material is in that coil head. Is that coil head cotton or ceramic wick?

I attached a image of my coil

This is just my thoughts, so feel free to take them or leave them, it's your body, your brain and your life, and all.

I was an off/on smoker for 5 years, but never developed a nicotine addiction, but enjoyed the experience, so I vape 0mg nicotine, because I figure why risk developing a nicotine addiction when I can vape without nicotine at all?

Probably safer in that sense to vape 0mg nicotine, than even a low level nicotine.

Again, you do you.

Totally with you @Hinata-Chan, save where you can.

Do you have any idea of the resistance of the coils your friend uses? As that may help with choosing coils that may suit you.

Because I know that the 1.2 ohm mesh and standard coil you may very well be able to use, but it would be a cool vape with little vapour. And that may not be what you're looking for.

0.6 ohm isn't bad for most folks @Hinata-Chan, you'll get some warmth and a decent amount of vapour.

If they sell single coils it's worth a shot, at least that will try to keep costs down as best as possible.

But remember to prime the coil well by dripping a very small amount of liquid in the wicking windows and the centre of the coil to get it nice and damp, a couple of drops is all you need though.

Insert the primed coil in the pod, fill with liquid and let it stand, and without turning the mod on take the occasional pull on the vape which will create a negative pressure and help ensure the wicking to become fully saturated.

30 minutes is about the shortest amount of time I would advise you to prime the coil, as if it's your only mod you don't want to be without it for an extended period of time.

But the longer you leave a coil to prime is better in some respects, as you can just leave them at one side and don't really have to do anything else. Just let Physics take its course.

Thanks for letting me know about this "priming"

and do i wait the coil 30 minutes too? or do i just put it in and then put the liquid and wait 30 minutes or more.

So sorry about that @Hinata-Chan.

Once you've filled the pod give it about 30 minutes, just to make sure that the coil is well and truly saturated.

It's just long enough but not too long, so may be a good idea to do something else in the meantime to let it cook.

And once you've primed the coil you're done, all you need to do now is enjoy.

But start at a low wattage and then work your way up slowly, allowing a small pause before using again. That should take no more than about 10 to 15 minutes, that's just done to break in the wicking.

And @Twiggy1995, you got it. Longer is technically better, but at most with that I would say overnight or while you sleep.
