Needed a replacement vaper, so I ordered one online and had the e-tailer ship it usps express mail-supposed to be received within one or two days.

Processed through Sort Facility, January 03, 2010, 10:12 am, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73125
Processed through Sort Facility, December 31, 2009, 9:03 pm, LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD 21090
Processed through Sort Facility, December 31, 2009, 4:21 pm, EASTON, MD 21601
Acceptance, December 31, 2009, 11:39 am, EASTON, MD 21601
Electronic Shipping Info Received, December 31, 2009

So, even though it was mailed Thursday morning express mail, it's still not here on Sunday evening. $25 to the USPS, when it would have probably gotten here just as quickly using parcel post.

It sat around for three days in a depot in Maryland, and-even though Express Mail is SUPPOSED to be mailed on Sundays-it sat this morning in OKC. Eveb though every shipment I've received on a weekday has always gone through if my hope city received it that morning. Two different groups of postal employees, despite the fact that its express mail, left it lying around without giving a crap.

Frak the stupid postal service. (Except for the guys manning the counter in Bethany, Oklahoma; they're really helpful and cool.) They keep losing business to FedEx and UPS, and wonder why that happens. I'll tell them why, it's because many of their employees don't give a crap. Then they keep raising their rates to keep these losers in their union protected jobs. There may be a line out of the door in the post office, but they'll only have one or two people on the counter, while several are leaning on counters in the back talking with each other.

I won't cry a tear if half of them (somehow) manage to lose their jobs.

So let me get this right. You ordered on the 31 a Thursday and the day before a holiday. Today is a Sunday so there is no delivery. So since you ordered USPS has been open and delivering one day, a Saturday. If you really wanted the package that fast you should have overnighted it. I'm sure that way you would have probably received it yesterday. As it stands it sounds like they have held up to their end of the deal as you should get your package within 2 normal operating days for them, and one business day. Just because you didn't plan ahead and had to deal with a holiday you can't really blame USPS.

+1

You should have paid extra for the teleportation service.

There is supposed to be deliveries on Sunday, that's part of being express mail. That's why I ordered express mail.

I call this "Sod's Law," because Murphy has better luck. It falls under: anytime you are running low, think you are running low, need something fast, pay for something fast, are down to your last 5 backups, which have decided to consecutively malfunction...

...the delivery will be stuck because of holidays, arrive at your local post office at 8:15A (trucks load a 8A,) will be delivered to a neighbor that hates you or your parcel will arrive at your house on the holiday eve, with the wrong item(s) at 3:30PM and your vendor closed at 12NN.

I have never failed to have this go into effect.

The only thing I've eliminated from this is the electronic notice that a delivery was made, when it was not and you're at home. Showing up at the post office and complaining to the manager has pretty much made sure that even "signature needed" items go straight to my mailbox without any attempt to capture said signature.

Otherwise, bend over.

Well I see that it does say that express mail is delivered to most locations 365 days a year, it doesn't guarantee Sunday delivery to every location. I feel your pain in awaiting your order. We all have gone through that. I also noticed that they have a refund for this option if they don't hold up their guarantee. If you feel that you should have already received your package then maybe you are entitled to a refund.

Yeah Cylde - could you do that - request the refund and let us know how many forms you had to fill out, after waiting in line and / well, would it even be worth your time? Anybody done this?

I've had shipments indicating the package was checked into the post office, and is either out for delivery or at the post office. It doesn't show up from the delivery and so I go to the post office to see if its there. They check and say its not there and out for delivery...

basically it sat in the carriers truck and got forgotten about.

Seriously... USPS sucks..

That's funny, the last line now reads:

Processed through Sort Facility, January 03, 2010, 4:54 pm, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73125

When before, it read that it arrived in OKC at 10:12 yesterday morning. I wonder if someone changed the arrival time to justify why it didn't get delivered yesterday.

Hopefully, it will arrive today....:|
