I am thinking of something:

To make the hole of GGTS a little larger I have 2 options:

1) I leave the threads in telescope to all its length.

2) I cut the threads but not in all its depth so they can be visible but not useable. You will be able to see them but they will be very short, like lines on the tube.

What do you say? we have only 2 days for this poll because I have to make this part soon

I think you need to explain exactly what we lose by doing this. Is any functionality lost? if so, what? If not, then what evlse? Stability?
We can't make an informed decision unless we know the impact.
My instinct says keep it the way it is but try to make even a tiny difference so that at least a few more varieties of batteries are accomodated.

Bristow, Ok.
I have both the red and the grey 18650 batteries. When I try to put them in by just removing the atty cap they don't fit. When I remove the top sleeve and screw the brass sleeve to she shortest spot then put in the batteries and reassemble they fit perfectly. If this will work for everyone else then there is no reason to change the GG just change the way to put in the batteries.

If it isnt going to affect the way the GGTS telscopes in and out ...then I dont mind how ya fit the 18650s....I mean the threads ya wanna cut arent useable anyways? right..It wont affect the in and out of the telescoping right?

We dont lose anything. The only we will have is visible threads to telescope but very short ones, like lines

when I had the Ultrafire 18650 3000 mAh, FAT "red" batteries, they would not fit no matter how I opened my GGTS, they were too large for the inner brass threaded tube. I wrote a suggestion, that seems to have disappeared, but in that message I thought the inner brass tube could be machined out a tiny bit, but upon looking at it more closely, I realized that Imeo probably made it as thin as possible in the first place. It seems those single 3.7 batteries can all be slightly different widths, since most have reported different success or failures when inserting them in their GGTS. The inner brass threaded "middle" tube is the smallest internal diameter of the unit, so it's interesting to me that some have been able to get theirs loaded from the top, in my case it did not matter which direction I tried, they got stuck. I'm now thinking of moving to the smaller, less powerful 3.7 batteries, first I have to ask Rob to test to see if the UltraFire 123A's he sells, looks like a "silver" or "grey" outer label, will fit properly. As reported, it seems if you want to use "protected", the width can be wider/fatter, and not the same from battery to battery. Kind of a drag, pun intended.... :)

Been "informed" the "UltraFire ICR123A 3.7v 880mAh" batteries FIT the GGTS fine!

So the moral of this story of 18650 battery woe is don't buy Ultrafire "red" 3000 mah, but all the rest are good to go?:p

We think we've got battery fitting problems. Just been reading a thread for another premium P.V. where it's been discovered those new protected CR2s won't fit the particular mod. I doubt the GGTStorm or Trans or Grant would have a problem with those.

Mine will fit. I have grey ones that are 2400 mah that are a hair bigger and they also fit. For me it is just how I put them in. I do realize that all batteries are not the exact same size.
