Polycarbonate Tank

My first tank mod. All resources came and I just do it as quickly as possible. The tube cutter not really good so a bit of edgy at the corner.

Currently: Do leak test. So far so good. No leaks. Will be testing if it leaks during vaping.

Capacity: ~4ml

Good job. After cutting with the tube cutter I clean up the edges with some 220 grit sandpaper.

thanks for the advise oplholik. i was looking at breaktru website. I may use a stone grinding because I am using copper cutter which is not sharp enough and there is some plastic denting in. using sandpaper has made some minor scratch in my tube but lucky the grommet is covering that area.

If you used the standard thin wall tube, do a good heat treat on it when you finish smothing up the edges.
With glass it is called flame polishing. it will add months of life to the tube.

thanks gummybear for the advise. this information can't be found and it is a good information. anyway can I use a power drill to drill a small hole in the polycarbonate tube? will it crack?

Yes you can drill and thread it. Kinda slow drill speed. (not to slow)

I drill mine, but I don't thread them. I'm using self-tapping screws. Not the most attractive solution, but it works.

ETA: I've been meaning to go to the depot and look for nicer screws. This is just what I had.

I use a #4 stainless steel screw. The tap come with the correct drill bit for about 4 bucks at any hardware store.
You just have to be careful not to strip the threads when tightening it.

gummy. do I have to use a blow torch to cure it? can I use stove fire to cure the tube? how long each side?

A pocket torch is great (little butane ones) But I just use a BBQ grill lighter.

Flame polishing is to get it hot enough to fuse the ends that may have gotten some micro cracks from the cutting, they will propagate into large cracks about 3 days after you drop it if you don't do this. Oh yea you will drop it.

So a normal flame will do. And yea, will it prevent acidic juice from breaking it?

If you mean Cinnamon, I would suggest Pyrex glass for that.

There are known problem for juice like banana and some mint. Even some drinks flavor. Will curing help?

I don't really know (other than Glass) what will help with the harsh juices, I don't use them so I've never seen it as a problem that needed to be fixed like I did with the tanks. constantly having to re-fill or drip is what led to tanks that we all use now.
