Just wondering what are some of the worst mech mod designs you've come across in terms of mechanics, materials, performance, etc?
Well if we are going by looks, then I vote for the flip as it is the gaudiest thing I have ever seen.
Function wise there are tons of bad ones.
FWIW, I held a "1:1 clone" this past weekend.....piece of trash compared to the original.
I initially thought that the V3 Flip looked pretty cool. I made an impulse buy on an authentic. Got it. Used it for a bit and now I hate it! Feels horrible in hand. Rough as all get out. Damn near seems like it is going to cut my hand at times.
The looks have worn off for me. It looks gaudy as hell to me now. I only used it for about a week and it has been sitting in its pouch in my vape box since.
It's going on the classies when I get time and figure out how I am supposed to post there within the rules.
I am in the same boat. I bought an authentic V3 Flip Gold edition when the first came out.....my tastes have changed a LOT since I got it. I now prefer a sleeker, more simple looking mod like the GP Paps. I also hate that you cannot access/disassemble/clean the switch.
Did you get yours engraved? Because I did (with my initials JPC).....that basically renders mine unsellable to most people....![]()
Now that's impressive.... And not likely to be cloned for $20.Pretty much the same here as far as my tastes in mods changing.
Nope, didn't get mine engraved and just now put it up in the classies.
Here's more what I like now. The Damascus Mod by Phillips Bush...

Absolutely gorgeous!!You got that right. I saw it over in the Rebuildable Atomizer Systems forum. That one belongs to twisted420. Bee-you-tee-ful!
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Bart has a Damascus releasing soon too, if not already.
The flip? I love the concept of it. Just flip the end cap to change battery sizes. Changing tubes is easy enough on modular mods, but it's never fun rummaging through the stash til you find it. The modular type, I usually keep in one size, the 500, anyway. The roller telescoping is my fave. Haven't yet tried the flip, but, hope to eventually if they ever come out with a minimal design. If not, I'll get a purple one lol.
Bart of Versa mods Bart. He has Damascus steel tubes now. Gorgeous material. Is Bart Phillips Bush?
It's definitely a good concept with just flipping the ends for different battery sizes. Especially with each end only requiring a couple of turns unlike some telescoping mods.
