Portable charger battery

I have noticed that my battery is balooning up and wont close anymore it got worse the past week now the whole left side on the label side is lifted. Whats the general life of these chargers and is it time to just order a new one?

I have not purchased anything in awhile since I last stocked up so maybe its time. but I want to get an idea of how long I should expect these to last so I can prepare and not have a means to charge my e-cig.

Well scuzzy I got my pcc in october 09 and it's still kinda working....have'nt ever used it that much though.

I got mine like 8+ ago and it's kinda still working. Sometimes it stops charging. I really don't use it much. If yours is still within warrantee email them for a replacement

Yea... I'd get rid of it.. Swollen lipos can pop = Bad...

Even if it is in warranty I'd just shootem a pic of the device. I wouldn't mail it.
Wouldn't want it blowing up in a mailroom / truck / mailbox somewhere from heat or rough handling...

That's what a bucket of saltwater is for. (No, seriously...) I've documented a few times here how to safe an Li* battery.

I use a two liter soda bottle, fill it with water and salt until it'll disolve no more. Dunk the batt and wait a week or so.

I've done 6s1p / 5000mah lipos this way and they're totally harmless afterwards..

I was wondering what the internal batteries life span was and if it's a lipo or NiCd?

Some are LiIon (not LiPo), some are NiMH (not NiCd). Best way to tell is to measure the output voltage from the battery itself.

Lifespan is hard to call, especially with Lithium*. Depends how deeply cycled the cell is, and the quality of the chemistry on that particular generation.
