I'm so impressed with my vaping experience (still in its infancy with a cheap e-cig; mod on order
) that I'm surprised and appalled that vaping isn't more widely known and practiced, beyond the e-cigs sold in gas stations, of course. I'd really like to rep this community and movement as a truly viable smoking cessation option -- I have more than a few smoker-friends -- and a pretty cool hobby. After a quick google search, I've found a few positive articles regarding electronic cigs. The most compelling so far discusses the (lack of) negative cardiovascular effects, check it out:
E-Cigarettes Don't Harm Heart, Study Shows
A quote from the second page:
"Many laboratory analyses have shown electronic cigarettes do not contain carcinogens, he says. But even in studies where formaldehyde and other carcinogens were found, the levels detected were 500 to 1,400 times less than the amount present in one tobacco cigarette, Farsalinos says.
"You would have to use e-smokes for six to eight months to get the amount of chemical present in a single tobacco cigarette," he says."
Are there other articles you folks have come across while browsing? I'd really like to show my doctor-- I'm really close with the man and he's constantly pestering me about my now-ex-smoking habit.
