My unused carts and liquid bottles are in the fridge. My remaining esmoking paraphernalia is kept in a large (big freezer size) ziploc bag. The stench in that bag registers in my brain as flammable. Is this flammable? Could there be spontaneous combustion? Could it be set off by electronic sparks?

$64,000 questions, Jamie. Someone ought to duplicate and test. Does it smell like methane from decomposing landfill wastes, etc?
I don't know, but if you are worried about it, I'd advise opening the bag. For peace of mind if nothing else.

I can't imagine what stuff you have in that ziploc bag. I have a lot of paraphernalla here also but it's like syringes, gloves, flavor extracts, etc. Could you tell me so I could look out for same?

The liquids in the cartridges are almost certainly the source of the odor. tobacco is a plant, my favorite vegetable. The liquid derived from this organic thing contains Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). When organic material begins decomposing, gas discharge occurs. Seal the stuff and you get a gas buildup. Feel free to correct my chemistry here. I spent high school chemistry flirting with the girl next to me.

I get your point TB but the way Jamie described it seemed that his eliquid and cartridges were in a different place and not a problem. I could have misunderstood though.
You're right. What's the paraphernalia giving off the stench? Guess I was hoping she'd stumbled on E-Gas, a solution to the planet's diminishing crude oil supplies.

Okay the paraphernalia is all that you would expect - used carts waiting to be squished, filter material already squished, empty cart plastic, syringes, tweezers .... normal stuff you'd find on Amy Winehouse's coffee table.
The bag usually isn't sealed. It's like cart odor x 10000. I try to keep it all neatly divided with smaller ziplocs and prescription bottles but everything seems a bit slimey with liquid residue/condensation anyway.
