Possible atty damage, not sure what's going on.

I have a Sidesho from Modern Vapor. Whereas it's a great little vapor machine, I had the strangest thing happen about 15 mins ago...

Up to that point, I always got consistant, flavorful (at least I thought) vapor with this PV. However, the incident involved me dropping my PV, batt, atty and all on my very hard tile floor.

At that point I thought it was probably done for, because the impact was such that it made a VERY audible "thunk" sound (illustrates the force of the impact).

Pick it up and wiped it off, pulled the cart off, and fired the button to see if I could see the atty glow (checking for functionality). There is no glow whatsoever (and the cart and atty were fairly dry to begin with, so I know I should have been able to see it), but there is a very pronounced sizzling sound. There's absolutely no vapor produced with the cart off, but when I placed the cart back on the atty, much to my surprise, not only do I get vapor, but this thing has magically turned into a fog machine (I almost choked off the first hit), and the flavor seems to be much better.

I know all this sounds like a God send, but it has me worried, since I've read other posts about ppl losing batts and such because they "modded" the atty in any way. Curious to know if anyone can tell me if I just got super lucky, or might I have damaged an important part of the atty, which could possibly cause worse damage?

Atomizers are the most delicate and finicky component of the electronic cigarette. I'm not a technical person, so I don't even attempt to understand them, but I think even the techies often scratch their heads.

I take a very pragmatic, matter of fact approach: Be thankful for the serendipity. Murphy's Law took a day off.

If you are concerned about the personal safety of vaping that atomizer and battery, then you can just throw them away. Otherwise, enjoy it while it lasts ... and make sure you have a backup atty and batt, if that improved performance turns out to be just your atomizer's Cheyne-Stokes breathing prior to death.
