Mind if I join the Insomniacs? I can't seem to get to bed before 4am most nights anyway. 18+ years between 2 services always working the graveyard shift, or 2 on 3 0ff then 3 on 2 off. Now medically retired and a full time student trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Have no clue what I'm gonna do when school starts in the fall. My girls will be getting up at 6a to get ready for the bus and my classes will be 3 days a week starting around 10a and the 4th day at 8:30am. As it is now I usually sleep from around 4 or 5am till the girls wake up at 9 or 9:30.

I know what you mean. I'm 43 and my kids are son 20, girls 10 and 5. The oldest moved out, YAY!!!!!!!!!! (no empty nest syndrome for me) and the girls go to bed every night around 9:30 cause it's summer. they wake up around 9 or so in the morning and the 10yr old complains about being tired. I mean, really?!

So, who else is up? Been reading the Thread and haven't seen Reverendg post in a while. Everything ok with the Rev?

I worked nights for many years and if I'm not careful get a second wind about midnight and next thing I know it's going on 6 am. Once you train your body it's hard to reset that clock. Sleep well when I do lay down, just have to work my way back around to early to bed early to rise if I want to get anything done during the day or not feel so tired. Seems to be improving now that I dont have to cram one more cigarette in before I go to sleep. That last cigarette always seemed to make it hard to go to sleep, but if I didnt smoke at least part of one I'd lay in bed wanting it. vaping is a hit it and forget it thing now. Not a constant motion from one drag to the next one cig to the next. Clearly I should go to sleep now as I'm rambling a bit.

Rest of the insomniac army should head to the link in my sig if you need somewhere to expend some of that extra energy.

the easiest thing to do is drink a lot of whiskey and vape a lot. that usually knocks me out around 4 or 5 am. my eyes get so dry i go to sleep. but i dont have to work til 5 pm so that might have something to do with it. just have to build up you tolerance to nicotine.

I see a lot of people suggesting to drop down to low nic or even zero nic before bed time. But then again I heard that .........ion works as well, as long as you're not glued to your computer screen. You might wake up with dry eyes and your peter in one hand and your mouse in the other. At least you don't have to worry about burning down the house with your PV.:facepalm::facepalm:

I know exactly what you mean about catching theat second wind or even a third sometimes. I swear it's like, if I get a chance to crash out I have to take it right now. If I have to take a leak or something it might be hours before I hit that zone again.

I keep going outside to watch the meteor shower. It's kicken pretty good right now. I saw fifteen in about 5 minuets and three were realy nice ones. I hope one really big one comes in and smashes into my car. I hear they sell for a pretty penny and people actually will buy your car to put in a museum. That's were that damn hoopty belongs. (master cylinder went out yesterday) So I get to wrench on the sucker tommorrow. Come on meteor, do your stuff.

Wow they are really kicking now. I had to come in and grab a long warmer shirt and fresh batteries. Nothing like kicking back watching the night sky as the meteor shower goes on and on. I put down a sleeping bag and a pillow and I'm just vaping away. Watching them zip overhead. Oh and a thermocell to keep the bugs off.
