Alright, I'm a smoker. Who is mildly allergic to smoke I might add. I've been doing my homework on e-cigs for awhile now...maybe a little over a year. I know I'm looking for a more analog styled ecig and have narrowed what I want down to the Volt from Smokeless Image and the G6 from Halo. I also looked at the Yeti-C from AltSmoke, but its on clearance and for whatever reason that kind of worries me as far as if anything goes wrong with it (particullary the PCC) down the line. Virtually the same things, I know (except for the Yeti-C...which I believe is a 510), but I just need some input on which company is better, even which product you all would prefer. So I don't know, what should I go with? What do you kind folks out there think?

I'm sort of new too. I too had developed an allergy to my own cig smoking. I've done business with Puresmoker, Volcano and Gotvapes. I find all three of them to be good places. Never used a Volt but heard good things about it from several sources. I personally have no interest in a skinny e-cig though. I found them all to be insufficient for my needs. I also wouldn't depend on just having one device. Get yourself at least 2.

Battery life is king in the ecig world. I'd look for an ecig with battery current ratings of 650mah and up. Anything less and you will be tied to a charger. eGo, Kgo, Riva, Epower and others like them will be a much better choice. There's nothing wrong with cigarettes sized ecigs, you just get left out of a lot of options like low resistance atomizers (better flavor and vapor) and you get short battery charge life.

I'd buy an eGo kit and a couple of boxes of Boge 2.0 cartos. This is what most people graduate to after trying a cigarette look alike.

Here's a video that shows cartomizers in action and a good way to fill them initally. After that, you can top them off by dripping from the bottle into the top.

Madvapes.com good stuff at good prices. I myself am a long time Volcanoecigs.com user. They have a 1 year warranty and great customer service. Mypvshop.com has the fs kits cheap and I have a 510 kit. The 5 second cut off is kind of annoying but they perform well.

If you get the FS kits, the batteries and charger aren't going to be interchangeable with other 510's because they're reverse polarity.

I have been using a kit from V2 cigs, that are about as long as analog 100, their customer service is top notch btw. It's an 808 kit. I'm telling you now tho, I'm married to this charger 100%. I was so tired of it after about 2 weeks, I walked into radio shack and grabbed everything to build a pass through even tho it was going to cost me way more than 17 bucks. All because I was just fed up, that and I dropped one of my batteries in the toilet, so it was constant upkeep. Due to what seems a much larger selection of mods/carto etc.. for 510's. I would go that route if you did decide to still stick with the smaller batteries. If your worried about the look of the devices your carrying blu is also an option but I have not seen to many rave reviews on them.

Battery Specs:
Voltage :
4.2 volts
Battery Rating :
250mA/H

Cartomizer 2.5-2.8 ohms
and dont bother with pre-filled

I love my skinny . . . it looks like a capped ink pen on my desk . . . however, battery power can be a serious concern, dependent upon your personal habits. If you generally keep you cigarettes with you pretty much all the time you may not convert to the maintenance of a skinny very well. I keep 4 batteries going to assure I have ample power. And I have to change carts or fill-up cartos quite often. It works for me and many others, but be sure to read what the good folks on this forum share about their experience and think about your lifestyle and needs, not just the PV's looks.

Best wishes in finding the right system and the right vendor to make your transition a great one!!

I got my Pig Cig from LeCig - they're pretty good. Very helpful on the phone and do priority mail for $5 when re-ordering. Received my kit in 2 days and my juice order in 3 days. Definitely go with a big (2) battery system. Don't go the PCC route IMHO. The batteries are too small to get you through the day, even with the PCC.

I am new to vaping too. Only 3 full days off analogs and thought I wanted a cig looking device too so I ordered one from safe cig that looks like a real cigarette but also ordered an Ego T after reading and seeing so many reviews. The day I received the Ego T, I received an email from safe cig saying they were out of stock and would be for 2 weeks, and had not even shipped my order! So now I only had the Ego T and fell in love with it. I cancelled my order with safe cig and am actually glad that happened cause I would have waisted $75 bucks on their kit if I had actually received it. I was so sure after smoking for nearly 20 years that I needed an ecig that looked like a cig but found that the ego works even better than I could have ever hoped. I have been analog cig free for 3 days now and will NEVER go back!

Thank you guys so much for the responses! I really appreciate any and all help and advice you all can give me :)

A little more backround on my experiences so far...might answer a question or two that were shot my way and hopefully will help get this train rolling in the right direction.

Well I'm allergic to dust and pollen, I mean who isn't, so I assume its the particulate nature of smoke...it seriously irritates my throat. Especially in the cold. I suppose because when its cold its a little more difficult to breathe in general? Before I started taking allergy medication, to support my smoking habit mind you, the coughing and hacking would lead to dry heaving and well...vomiting. I did see a doctor about this. He suggested I quit the cigs and take over-the-counter allergy meds. Tried quitting...stress wasnt a fan of that. So now I smoke...but take my allergy pills as well. Stupid, I know.

With all that said, I have tried ecigs before. First, the kiosk crap...it was a fun novelty that a friend (his purchase not mine btw) and I enjoyed using while walking around the mall and getting disgusted looks from people. However was not really a fan. My mom also bought one of these and the menthol carts decided to drip into my mouth which was unpleasant to say the least. Not to mention, they are EXTREMELY HEAVY.

Another friend had a Volcano Inferno tank set up. It was ok. The flavor wasn't great (some kind of blue raspberry) and it felt a little harsh on my throat. Not too sure about the nic content or the make up of the juice. Another friend recommended the eGo, and let me try his out. I had a similar issue with that. Although I know it was a pure PG juice with a higher nicotene content. These batteries were much lighter than the kiosk garbage, however they just didnt feel right in my hand.

Another friend picked up the Mystic from Wal-Mart. He says he likes it and I'd like to give it a try. I'm apprehensive though.

Again thank you all so much for the information you've already provided and for the help you'll hopefully continue to throw my way. (Sorry for being so long winded btw)

Welcome to ECF!
You are on the right track with the Volt and Halo G6. Bloog Maxx Fusion is another great choice. All three of those are the EXACT SAME THING, so just get whichever has the lowest price. At the moment, it's the Bloog.
I saw a couple peeps recommend the V2Cigs and V4L. Although they work well, they have a few disadvantages when compared to the Volt/Halo G6/Bloog. The V2/V4L batteries are Generation 1, and are unregulated and the auto batteries not sealed. Unregulated -> Fresh off the charger, the abttery is running at 4.2V. As the charge runs out, the voltage lowers over the course of the charge and dies at around 3.3V. What this means is that the first puff will be hot, will have tons of throat hit, and will have muted flavors. By the time the battery dies, you will have cooler hits that have much less throat hit but might be more flavorful.
The Bloog/Volt/Halo are all regulated at 3.7V, so the hits are consistent throughout the charge cycle.

If you are paying more than $50 for a starter kit with 2 batteries, 5 cartos, and a USB charger with wall adapter included, then you are probably paying too much.

Once you start getting into this and want to "tweak" your vape, you can get cartos (cartomizers) with differing ohm ratings. For the all the models that have been suggested, stick to a range between 2.5-3.4 ohms. 2.5 ohm (low resistance) will give you a warm vapor with lots of throat hit and vapor production, but will have muted flavors. 3.4 ohm (high resistance) will give you a cool vapor with more flavor, but you scarifice throat hit and vapor production.

You mentioned VG and nicotine content, so I take it you know the impact that PG/VG ratio and the amount of nic in your juice has on the vaping experience.

That's all I can think of for now....hope this helps

I tried making the big switch a year ago... Stopped smoking analogs for a week before the short battery life and low capacity of the carts got me and I went back to smoking...

I spent a year researching.... And went with an eGo T...

It's now been a week, I have no desire to return to analogs, no cravings for analogs... and ya know what?

I learned something valuable.... I didn't want an ecig that looked like an analog as much as I thought I did.

I wanted big ol clouds of vapor, good battery life and good capacity for juice.

A battery lasts me just over a day, about 28 hours including time spent sleeping ;)

The tankd last me less... About 12 hours, but definitely sufficient.

God I was foolish thinking I needed an analog size/looking ecig....

I totally agree with DavidP. If size doesn't matter to you, go with something that hits better and will last longer between battery charges. I prefer the eGo lite bundle from liberty-flights.com versus the eGo-T. I'm not a tank fan like yourself. My favorite brand of cartomizers are Boge and for use with the eGo's, use 2.0ohm. Might also consider picking up a drip tip. Makes refilling your cartomizers easier and nicer feeling on the lips.
