I love to cook and have been trying to get my son to learn. I keep telling him it will really impress girls if he can make just a few things really really well. Hubby couldn't cook at all when we met, but years of having him assist me have trained him well and now he can make anything he wants to. He makes a great Spaghetti Sauce. It really helped when I was pregnant and couldn't stand to be in the kitchen.

Poutine!!!!!...oh, I miss home now!!! Last time I had that was at St. Jabobs Market in Ontario. I'm drooling thinking about it. I have made some at home, but since cheese curds are hard to come by in the US, mozzarella is about the closest. Oh, and Bisto gravy..mmm mmm mmm

Tim Hortons is owned by the company that owns Wendy's in the US. They are mostly in Ohio at the moment, with a few spreading east to PA and ALMOST into Kentucky. They usually share the same building/lobby seating space. Works good...kiddies get Wendy's, adults get a nice sandwhich, coffee and donut instead. And the bread bowls with chili is killer.

As for WHY it's so good? It's the 18% cream that's in the coffee. OMG, it's devine..and I don't like coffee, but Tim's I will drink. BF fell in love with it on first sip.

My husband (now deceased) was a trucker. He KNEW his coffee...we got Tim's in Canada when visiting family. We took home 4 large cans of it. Whenever it ran out, he always stopped in at a Tim's in Ohio and restocked.

At least Tim's doesn't cost $5 for a cup like Starbucks. And it's sooo worth it, even to the likes of a non-coffee lover like me.

Funny you mentioning the 18% cream making the coffee......... Being a Tim's freak, I've come to rely on 18% for ANY coffee now.

Friends and relatives seem to laugh at me when I'll show up at their place with a container of creme just do endure their sludge coffee's, but at least I can tollerate it now, lol. And, that's right..... they laugh & I don't share !!

When I'm at a restaurant and haven't thought ahead to bring any 18% (sorry but the 10% most carry just doesn't cut it), I'll pass on the coffee and opt for a less satisfying tea.

Tim Horton's invaded Michigan awhile ago. They're everywhere now. Being on the border to Windsor though I notice a difference in taste of the coffee in Canada and the US at Tim Horton's. Still good at both. Way better than Starbucks or DD.

I find it funny telling all my fellow Michiganders that Tim Horton was actually a player for the dreaded Maple Leafs. I think he might be the only good thing to ever come from the Maple Leafs organization. :D

Lol, that is what I was thinking when I read the post. The part where they started talking about vinegar was pretty damn funny.
