So I've had this praxis mod (from Limwell) for awhile and never been able to use it properly. Mounting a Plume Veil on the hybrid cap, the 510 post clears it no problem and the switch works properly (albeit a bit stiff)...but it takes forever for any coil to heat up. I thought the combo should work properly but it's like trying to fire a sub-ohm with an Ego. I do have one suspected issue...

The negative connection seems to be scuffed. Not sure how that happened. Sometimes it feels like I need to wiggle the switch some to get it to rub on the battery. Or...maybe it's the battery itself? I have a handful of red Efest 2000mah batteries, both V1 and V2. Would better batteries make this mod useable?

my guess is there are two parts that screw together and between them is the spring, and the two parts are partway unscrewed, causing a wobbling of the switch mechanism.

Many of the switches I've seen are like that, they can gradually unscrew with usage; if it unscrews out all the way, the button and spring might pop out.

When I first got my Praxis clone (SS), the thing would not work right either. It would either fire like normal, not fire or auto fire. Pretty scary to be honest. I tried changing batteries from flat top to nipple top, didn't make a difference. I cleaned and polished the treads, switch and even the tube. Still no difference. It was as reliable as a snowman in Phoenix.

What finally fixed it was I removed the switch and reinstalled it, I started to notice that whenever I would do this with the switch the mod got a little more reliable. So I did this about twenty times in a row, I know the switch is kind of tough to reinstall because you have to line it up at the top cap just right. Not sure if yours unscrews from the bottom but mine did not. After doing this so many times I guess it filed down whatever was keeping the thing from working correctly. Now I have never had a problem with it. To be honest that whole ordeal pretty much soured me on the Praxis and I don't really use it too much.

Good luck.

i have a praxis clone (copper). the switch is rather stiff and never really fire reliably. so it's sitting on a shelf and not seeing much use. i like my mech mod to be simple to use and reliable. 4nine and SMPL seems to fit the bill very well along with penny and nemesis. after getting SMPL and 4nine, i haven't even looked at most other mods. i actually like SMPL so much.. i bought 3 of them to make sure i don't run out of it when one breaks. all clones, btw..
