Couldn't find a combination of words that would search and find an answer to this question.
I have used pre-filled Cartos from Cig2O and V4L with my 808 manual batts for several months now. Very satisfying and they have lasted for what I calculate from my analog history about 1.5 packs. I decided to start filling blank Cartos so I could experience more flavor variety. I have been filling with 25 to 30 drops, letting them sit overnight, and then using them on my 808 manual batts from V4L. vaping at the same rate, I have found they only last about 0.5 packs before I have to fill them again.
Is this common? Am I missing something? I'm hoping that someone will be able to answer this question.
Thank lots, Karen

If the amount of liquid you are adding is the same as the originally filled carto, then it could be a couple things.

Could be:

1. The liquid you are adding is thicker than the prefiilled liquid, and thus wicking less quickly. This would be the case if the liquid you are adding is higher in VG content than the original. This effect would be most pronounced if you are vaping heavily and not taking breaks.

2. The filler becomes compressed during the first usage, and doesn't hold as much after that. This doesn't seem right though, as only getting 1/3 the vaping as originally is a huge difference.

I would try cleaning the cartos after the first round. I remove the caps and plunk them into clean vodka for a couple hours with swirling occasionally. Then flush them a lot with hot water, shake as dry as you can, and dry them the rest of the way in a 200 degree oven for an hour. Some people blowdry their cartos, but I have no experience with that.

Fill them and see if things improve. If this doesn't work and/or no one else here has a better idea, post again and at least we will have this result as data.

Who's blanks are you using? V4L Coolcart blanks are slightly longer than the Wow's and I can typically get 40-45 drops in, when refilling (YMMV). If I only filled one of these with 25 drops, it would significantly reduce the amount of time I could vape it. On the flip side, the Wow blanks hold approx. 34 drops but don't last as long, as they are lower resistance, which causes the juice to heat up more and thus evaporate quicker.
