Never heard of Volcano being 808 (and warning - there also exists a KR808D-2, incompatible with KR808D-1)

Entirely US made - I say BS BS BS - maybe they box the kit together in the US. All slim ecigs are made in China

The most popular 808 vendors are Vapor4Life, and the 3 vendors with the other style SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6

BTW - this is the only Volcano I know, selling rebranded 510, rebranded Ego (510 threaded fat battery) and some crappy little model

I've used V2 and VaporSmiths for filled carts. V2 can be a bit pricey if it's not around a sale, but some great flavors. If you do order around a sale, be ready for a longer wait on shipping. VaporSmiths has very fast shipping and great flavors. They seem to last longer than other carts I've tried, and they always offer GREAT deals. Either some % off or free hardware. They are having a 30% off sale right now, HAPPYBDAYTRACIE is the code.

Got this email from Volcano Customer Service this AM:

"Thank you for contacting us. Yes, every part of this kit is USA made including the battery. The battery is a 90mah battery and will last as long as other batteries of the like, roughly 30 minutes of use depending on use until needing charged again.

90mah OMG they are using the tiny KR808A or KR808B or are just bs artists calling some crappy unrelated super-mini "808" to lure people

That is not a KR808D-1 - here people sometimes abbreviate KR808D-1 as 808 but they do not mean an actual super-mini KR808A or B or anything else 808.

There is no 90mah KR808D-1. KR808D-1 is 180 or 280 or 350mah (and for the rubberized models like Halo add 40mah for each size).

Sorry I have no idea what that uses. Is that what you bought? Can you post a link to where it's sold?

If you bought a real KR808D-1 then do not buy cartos for that "808" thing. People here who say they use 808 are not using that thing - we are using KR808D-1 (Vapor4Life, and the other style at SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6)

SO to be clear - if you mean the Volcanoecigs Volcano, it appears to be a female battery with male cartos, 90mah - my guess is it's L88b or similar, a reverse polarity tiny battery used by Blu which has 510 threading but would fry in a 510 charger. Does not use KR808D-1 cartos. May be able to use 510/Magma cartos.

I usually call KR808D-1 KR8 to avoid confusion (the forum make that a definition link). If I am talking about an adapter I use "808" because that is what KR808D-1 is usually called in adapters like 808 to 510 etc.

The SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet and I think Halocig G6 uses the same cartos - very nice cartos - bottom coil, very absorbent stuffing, less likely to leak, easier to get a good drag out of - very nice. Cooler on the lips than Vapor4Life WOW cartos (the WOW cartos got me to use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece - these cartos can get hot on the lip end, but well worth trying sample packs there, I think especially the WOW Tobacco SHop pack that contains WOWBoy.

I use only thin clear juices, PG w/ 20% or less VG. plus a couple of Vapor4Lie WOW juices and I still need to try some SmokelessImage sample packs (their juices are 80PG/20VG) and I avoid all dark and cloudy juices or any other juice that drops flavoring sediment in the cartomizers.

I use only manual batteries (harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get a good hit). On a manual you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (both available at LiteCigUSA.net) to test juice samples. I never dirty a carto to try a juice. Drip tips are not recommend on auto batteries but you could use 901 cartridges.

I've been using KR8 and 510 (manuals) for 11 months and KR8 is the most powerful slim ecig you can buy - 3.7v (3.6 for the rubberized models like SI, Bloog, G6 which is how they get their 40mah of additional charge). And their popular cartomizers like the two I mentioned above are 2.5/2,6 ohms right at the low end of standard resistance (lowest you should go on slim batteries). I started on the short KR8 batteries and then switched to the standard/78mm ones for the longer charge. I also now own some 3.7v mods and a 3.7v Riva 510 kits from Liberty-Flights.com (the Riva 510's there are 3.7v ones) and I use a 510 to 808 adapter to use the KR8 cartos on those (as well as using 510 stuff on them).

dormouse or anyone knowledgeable,

So what is the difference between the kr808d-1 and 2? Are the carto's interchangeable btwn 1 & 2? Are all of the carto's from v4L, smokelessimage, bloogplanet horizontal like the Halo g6? Can you switch between horizontal & vertical carto's on any given kr808d-1/2, but in particular the halo g6

Thinking about getting a g6 kit from Halo for a friend...mainly because I have dealt with them for over a year and love their service and quality of juices. And if everything is equal/or close to equal between the companies that you've listed, I'll probably go with the g6.

thanks and cheers,

No - KR808D-1 is the popular supported threading. KR808D-2 aka E9 is the incompatible model some rebranders use. At leCig.com you can get D2 battery to D1 carto and D1 battery to D2 carto adapters. They also sell some D1 and D2 cartos and I tried the D1's and did not think much of them and if I remember correctly the carto center post was not notched for airflow so airflow was not great and neither was the flavor - I tried one and tossed the rest. Re blank KR808D-1 cartos - Bloogplanet and Smokeless Image are nice bottom coils (possibly Kanger 2.6ohm KR808D-1 horizontal coils) and Halocigs G6 may use the same cartos. I also use the Vapor4Life WOW cartos which can get quite hot at the mouth end (not bottom coils), I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece.

My 2 cents on all of this thread and "will it fit" business is that this is a great reason to pick one vendor and stick with them, like Bloog, SmokelessImage, Halo, etc. It's not just "will it fit" but many vendors sell horizontal coil 808 cartomizers with unknown resistance, so even though it does fit another 808 battery, there's no way to know without spending the money or watching/reading/trusting a bunch of reviews, whether it will perform well. Sometimes vendors really don't know exactly what they are selling, they may carry an 808 line to round out their offerings but it's not their main ecig device focus.

Right now, I'm vaping SmokelessImage prefilled cartomizers, Desert Joe flavor. Haven't gotten a dud yet. My other favorite pre-filled so far is Elite Vaporworks Cinnamon Danish.

The Kanger horizontal coil cartos that I saw sold for KR808D-1 said 2.6ohm which is exactly the ohms somebody said the SmokelessImage and Bloog ones are. I bought some and it will be fairly easy to tell if they are the same. The SI and Bloog cartos have unusual more airy absorbent stuffing and a very small center air channel and I know how they vape.

But yes - never buy cartos from anywhere that doesn't list the ohms. Slim ecigs should be using 2.5 to 3 ohms with 2.5 being the hotter end of the range.

Other topic - so...

Volcano & Blu = L88b = 510-threaded but reverse electrical polarity as in fry 510
( I think Trio rebrander models are also L88b)

Volcano Magma = 510
Volcano Inferno = Ego

Thanks Dormouse for all the great advice about kr808. I have been researching them for about 2 weeks. I first started out with an Ego and juices (tons) than went to an Echo E. Haven't been satisfied yet with esmoking. Also bought a disposable/rechargable kr808 with the new double coil Echo E cartomizers a couple months ago. I wasn't happy with the dble coil either and went back to smokin nasties, for as of yet not being totally won over by ecigs I was still here and there smokin a nasty with the Ego and Echo E. Finally about 3 weeks ago I opened up the kr808. I loved it in all ways--the fill of it, vapor ect.. except the prefilled cartos that came with the ecig was not as pleasant a taste but would do until I could find a kit and some good prefilled cartos. I finally ordered Elite VaporWorks Signature Series kr808 with several prefilled cartos. I am awaiting the shipment anyday now. I hope it will be my sweet spot. I tried to find someone that was a total kr808 user with devotion to the ecig and knowledge of it so I could ask them questions of my own. But I didn't run into anyone before I made my decision on which vendor to order from. I hope I made the right decision because Elite didn't have as many rave reports as SI, Bloog and Halo did. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
