Ok everyone this is directly from Terri I emailed her to ask (great customer service once again):
Firstly, Vicky rolls them and yes always washes her hands... they roll better when your hands are damp anyway...
The bag is cut half then folded in thirds...(like a Z) then take a toothpick and fold a small portion over it then roll... insert into cart, spread by unwinding and 'flower' the center so juice doesn't have as much of a clear way up... easy peasy
Whenever using only a half a PTB, IMO, its always a good idea to make a fold instead of trimming the material to have it fit in the cart. I feel its a great way to keep the juice together.
As far as my opinion about the way its done... as long as it works for you. The ONE thing that I have found out for CERTAIN is that one way is not for everyone. There are too many variables. How people vape: hard vs. smooth pulls, juice: thin/ thick dark/ light, vape practices: couple of drags then put it in your pocket/ fill cart then vape till empty. Of all the issues we have had with the poly-fill the one thing I have not heard much of is flooding an atty or excessive leaking. I feel that is because they deal with the constants they have; the consistency of the juice and how much they put in. Then they have their 'rules' or 'best practice' of using the poly-fill. We are told to take a couple of drags then wait a couple of minutes so that the top of the cart can get more juice. Well... that is not how everyone wants to enjoy their e-cig.
Even for me, when I finally got a mod that I thought would work well for me, it took a couple of days to really know how to maximize my experience. With many PTB mods you can pull a lot of juice into the atty if there is a good amount of juice in the cart and you take a hard pull with the LED pointing down. Its a good thing I learned, for me, the best way to get a good vape is to take really smooth long drags. Most of the time I even take a double hit so I can start enjoying the small and taste of the first hit while inhaling for the second.
So, everyone is different. The 'RHO' mod is not for everyone. What I can say is that it works for me. I can get my head around how it, supposedly works. One piece, folds and frays for directional movement of the juice, spirals for stability and allowance for the atty shape and most importantly the PTB material. I have found other benefits such as having the folds on the top keeps the material that is closest to the heating coil wet and less likely to burn. I also learned that because it is folded then rolled I can make the mod slightly taller than the cart (making it easy to remove) without fear of it coming too close to the heating coil or leaving stray pieces to get 'caught' on the bridge.
Because some people had issues with the mod I was also able to make other variations using more folds or more material. This is really good to know when using different types of juice. All in all I have had a great time working on this and look forward to see what people come up with next. The way I see it, if you dont fail, that means you are not trying. Believe me, there are so many I have failed at. I almost started a blog the other day just so people know 'what not to do' the story of the things that I have tried to put in a 510 cart and failed miserably. If only to be able to look back and say, oh yeah, I tried that before, 'didnt work.'
holy cow i didnt realize this post was so long. anyway best of luck and happy vaping. Keep the adventure going. (well... until you find something that works for you)
