I don't think Boge cartos have flanges on them in any of their sizes. I also don't think that they come pre-punched either. You would have to punch a hole (with a saddle valve) or slot (with a dremel) in the carto. To get 3.0 ohm cartos, you would need to order the standard resistance which is in the 2.7-3.3 ohm range. If you're still interested in them, they do sell the stainless steel cartos to put in a tank.

There are various ways to put a hole in a carto or make the existing one bigger.

1) Saddle valve

2) Dremel

3) Hammer and Nail.

4) Drill with a very small bit (1/16")

5) Buy a punch tool from various vendors (can't remember the names of them)

6) Hub and Screw: see this thread on how to diy (diy carto punch

There are pros and cons to each method, so I'd recommend doing a search on the forums to find your preferred method.

Its incredibly easy and cheaper to punch yourself. Go to any Canadian Tire or Hardware store and look for a 1/4" Self-Tapping (the only type I've seen, but alas the one you want) Saddle Valve. It may not actually be labeled a saddle valve and it may not be put together so you may not recognize it - for this reason, I would ask for the associate's help in the plumbing section. Read this first so you can prepare yourself if they aren't sure what it is: Saddle valve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The guy at the Canadian Tire I went to months ago called it by something else, so I had to explain it's purpose in plumbing to him. These are less than $10 and will last forever. There's really zero learning curve. My only tip is to just make sure you tighten the screws down onto the carto as far as they will possibly go so there's no room for the punch to slide down next to it and miss.

If you're feeling handy, there's a dremel tool that comes with a ton of accessories that I picked up at Canadian tire for about 15 bucks.

Heres the link: Jobmate 36-piece Rotary Tool Kit | Canadian Tire

Actually, being in a new place, I found this thing to be a doing a lot more than just slotting cartos.

Otherwise, if you're willing to settle on an american vendor, madvapes will do you nicely and has fair shipping.

Does this look like it ChellyNelly, it is at Canadian Tire for $5.19plus tax. Called "Plumbshop Self Piercing Tap Valve."

That is exactly it! :) You just put it together, a few of the pieces you won't need for this application, you'll know which ones since it's fairly simple to put together.
