Jerry, is there such a thing as generators that run from solar energy? May be a silly Q - my mechanical aptitude is quite limited.
Between the fridge and two coolers, I can usually keep the food cold for a day or two, but three days was too much. I will use the generator primarily to keep the fridge cold and maybe an hour or two for tv time. I have my laptop for the internet and I can use the generator to recharge the battery.Oh, good - glad you have one on order since we're only in the middle of "h" season according to the NASA weather site. IDK why, but I thought you already had one - was thinking that maybe you were only running it a coupla hrs per day b/c of them being expensive in gas.

I think so, Sea. The ones that I looked at, primarily run on gasoline or propane, but I think I saw one that can also be run on solar energy. That would be great for you folks in So Cal.Jerry, is there such a thing as generators that run from solar energy? May be a silly Q - my mechanical aptitude is quite limited.
There is another hurricane out there that we are watching, Sea. .
Has Salem been here at all?
This storm wasn't that bad, Jan. The electric company wasn't ready for it, that's why our power was out for so long. A lot of people in RI still don't have any power and may not have it restored until Tuesday.
There's supposed to be an investigation into the electric company, after the clean up is over, but this is RI, so I don't have much faith in the official investigation, it probably will never happen.

No, not today. But she minded the clock the other night! She was perfect...
It's called Katya, Sea. She's on the thread right now. lolYeah, I think I know which one you're talking about, but they think that one will die or veer off - I forget the name of it. I sa it on the news page this a.m. They say that their instruments can be off though with them that far away by a hundred miles.
I'm not worried about "Katya", Katya. I'm worried about the electric company. The way they handled Irene, if we get hit with a full blown hurricane, we could lose our power for a month. Wouldn't that be fun !!!Not to worry, Jerry! I'll have mercy on you.
OK, folks, the countdown has officially begun:
19 minutes....
Wish Salem were here.![]()
