I called them last night, Whis, the problems at their end are fixed, so they think it's my modem (5 years old). The cable guy is coming over tomorrow.
lol, lap tops need modems too - i think you meant routers. which is what most cable and dsl providers now use for wireless access
i know - dh made sure you got the right environment to get online, lol

I also have a new laptop being delivered tomorrow. It's going to be a busy day !!!
I'm not sure that I want that, Tib, I spend too much time on the forum as it is. I can just see me with a laptop strapped to my chest, as I spend 24/7 typing away. 
Sher, sorry you'll miss your turning day on the forum, but wow, you'll be doing something so much more fun. Your welcome thread will be ready for you when you get back from the great outdoors.

I'm sorry to 'interrupt', but I have been very curious about what's going on here... And if I read the latest posts as to "tune-in", I know I would end up reading the entire thread... Trust me!
So, I was wondering if there was any chance of filling me in on the latest 'contents' to this thread briefly...
Also, Is it ok for me to peep in? Or is it just for senior senior members or similar?

Any pre-veteran, one month or less, who wants a welcome thread in the Veteran's Forum and or an avatar theme, for their turning day, post in this thread.
June list, so far:
Prism - June 3 - barbarian theme

It's to celebrate when an ECF member becomes a Veteran.
You become an ECF Veteran after you make at least 75 posts and it has been one year.
All ECF members are welcome to participate.
Each Pre-Veteran member chooses a theme. On the day that the Pre-Veteran member "turns" everyone who participates changes their avatar for a day to reflect the theme in celebration for the newest ECF Veteran.
For each Veteran that participates, a welcome thread is also created for them in the Veteran's section of the ECF forum.
