Naw, there is the kickoff, punts and field goals, so the game is part kicking the ball. The one thing that they don't do is bounce it off their heads.

You betcha. God gave us arms and hands, to use them. Who came up with the idea of a sport, where arms and hands are forbidden.

my guess is that the american "football" came from the basis of distance-based scoring,... a matter of feet.

however since they rule the game in yards, i vote we change it to "yardball" and leave "football" for the sport of 99% kicking (minus the goalie of course)

not to mention i long for the moment to start a word with the letter Y other than "you/your" and "yellow". so when i tell people how meaningless and stupid their obsession with YARDball is, i'll at least get something out of it.
