Sure it is, a delicacy. But it's very, very, very, very, very, very, very fishy. Not for me.

So... are you say'n it might be fishy?![]()
That's what you get when you let fish rot on a rooftop for a year and then make sauce.
Now, just so you know... I don't mean to offend anyone that makes this, loves this, or whatever. It's a cultural bias. Overall, the Thai people probably have more food sense than the Americans. However, I (having grown up in the USA) have a natural bias against this stuff/sauce. I have eaten Thai and probably will again. I'm just not gravitating to it very fast...... sorry.

My parents were stationed in the Philippines.... that's one thing they didn't try.
I love the daikon (white radish) in kim chi. If not made well, also fishy.
Nice disclaimer.
I tend to trust old recipes than new. If people have been eating it for thousands of years, ought to be ok. My only bias is my own taste. If it tastes good, nature's already screened it for me.![]()
dang song....
been a long time huh Atty !
Or is it Balut? Or Balute? Ya' know the rotten duck egg stuff from the Phillipines...

That...sounds good.![]()
Did they have the dog put on for 'em?
Heh heh heh. Probably. That was 50/60 years ago. They mostly stuck to base food.
