Are you in an area with HD broadcasts? Some newer TVs can pick that up through the air. If you've got cable, I don't know. If you're talking converter for analog TV's, there used to be a voucher for it, not anymore. What you use it for?
Here's the deal...Up north I use a Roku box that connects to my internet and I grab Hulu and Netflix (with some success) into my TV. The Roku works pretty good and I'm not up North enough to shell out for Dish network. Down here I have cable, but sm looking for a box to pull in all the movies on my NAS and grab hulu and netflix also. (Am I making any sense here??)
It could get annoying. I haven't spent the time to figure out why that Win7 PC doesn't play DVD yet.
