Okay Dave....I'll be circling 7/15 on my calendar as a rough estimate. This will serve as a bumparoo to this update thread.
Can't wait!
Can't wait!
I had originally estimated 6 weeks on these which the six weeks is up at the end of the week. It's gone by fast for me as i've been proto typing and re-prototyping as i make tweaks.
There hasn't been any significant setbacks but there have been a few changes:
-One change i made was to have a custom machined brass contact post for the end of the switch. It's chamfered on the end and deep slotted both ways, giving four contact areas for better switch to battery connection and easier removal when adjusting switch throw.
-Another One of the changes i made from the original blueprints i submitted was to make the switch and spring so it fits both the P16 and P18. The bodies are machined from solid core stainless rod, which allowed me to machine the switch end of both models to the same ID and then to step up to the appropriate ID for the different battery models. Like the Precise 10440, the P16 and P18 aren't just a machined straight thru tube, theres a machined in ledge in there which supports the spring and seperates the switch chamber from the battery chamber, which is much more pronounced in the P16 and P18.
I'll get some Precise 18650 photo's up for you shortly.
Please know that i am doing all i can do to get these out asap, but the machine shop is usually always the bottle neck. It isn't their fault though, i slammed them hard with not one, but two different models to be made concurrently. They have done an awesome job for me in the past, make last minute changes for me without complaint and I'm confident you'll be blown away by the end result.
David
You'll really like the new Precises, my mom was sad to see them go!
Does that mean that you didn't leave one for her to keep?![]()
Glad ya made 'em fit that one. because those are the batts I got and asked about in the beginning. IMHO, the best 18650 out there, bar none. You'll really like the new Precises, my mom was sad to see them go!
I should mention, the new style AW 18650 flat top battery really kicked some ... in the longevity department. I can't tell you the exact hours we got out of it as it was spread out over three days (approximatelty 16 hours of heavy vaping). The thing my mom most noted was that there was minimal drop off throughout it's vaping life. I again highly recommend this battery for use in the Precise 18650! If you don't have them, get them, you won't regret it!

"Going to try charging them on a real lipo charger (Hyperion EOS720I) and see what I get."
sorry for the OT comment, but are you an R/C flier? reason i ask is because you mentioned the 720i, i have the 615i DUO3 that i use to charge my 6S 3300mAh lipo's for my T-Rex 500.
As far as the radio range goes, farther than you can see.
For a blade stop auto I'll shoot one up 300 or so feet... They come down really fast 8-o
They'll rip along around 100mph and stop on a dime.. It's a blast.
My largest heli (not in that picture) is just @ 70" tail to blade tip, rotor span right @ 74", rpm @r 2150, runs on 30% nitro. All the others are lipo powered..
It's by far the most expensive thing I've ever done except get a divorce and both have been worth every penny to me..
