Hello all,

New here and new to vaping. I just got my first PV, the KR8 the other day and have already gone through some of the more common issues reported here. I have used info from ECF to correct those issues and all was well through my first prefilled carto.

I just have some questions on recurring issues that I hope someone can address.
If it makes any difference, I got all of my stuff from myvaporstore.

I started out with a prefilled, unknown type carto that was included in my starter kit. That didn't last long as it tasted horrible. I switched to a prefilled RY4 carto which worked a little better but produced almost zero vapor and I did not care for the taste. I finally ended up on a prefilled menthol carto and it was good all day today. Decent vapor and flavor.

Here is my issue... That carto seems to be running dry as the taste is fading and becoming a little harsh. So, I switched to a new, prefilled menthol carto out of the same pack. It seemed to be hard to draw on and the vapor is a little weak. After like 10 to 12 pulls on it, it seems to be performing like the previous carto did.

So, is this normal?
Is there a break in period for prefilled cartos?
Is there a trick to avoiding this or making new cartos perform better?

I know that blowing some of the juice out helps get them flowing better but that kinda defeats the purpose of buying prefilled cartos that are supposed to be good to go (or so I thought). Plus, it is a waste of juice.

Any help is appreciated.

OK
Did you buy liquid also or just pre-filled?

Pre-filled are likely not going to taste very good, or provide the same vapor, as ones you fill yourself. I know my pre-filled cart's for my KR808 are dreadful. I am not a fan of that models taste anyhow, but many like it.

Point being, I very much doubt you will ever find a pre-filled that you will love, or very unlikely...

You can re-fill those you have rather easily and cheap. Filling them yourself has a juice cost of maybe 20 cents...

Sorry, I should have clarified. All the cartos I have used so far are prefilled, packaged cartos.

I did buy some 555 juice as well and tried it in a blank carto but I do not like the taste of that liquid. That is my fault though. I am a menthol smoker and 555 is a straight tobacco liquid. It did taste like tobacco. I just don't care for the taste.

I have more liquids and blank cartos on order from vapor4life. Many people on here recommend their premium and cool cartos so I ordered 5 of each and a few juices to try. As you suggested, filling them myself with juice that I like should be better. But that will be up for discussion later since I have not received them yet.

Right now I'm just wondering if the prefilled cartos I already have are performing normally and there is a break in period where they are hard to pull and produce limited vapor. And if so, is there any way to improve that.

I use KR808 and would recommend self filling as well. I would also recommend buying blanks and save those pre-filled in case you run out. You might look at you tube for a video on refilling kr808 carts to see how easy it is (very easy). If you don't like the taste of the prefill you probably should try American ejuice supposedly that perfume taste is in the stuff from China which is where the hardware is made. Unfortunately I don't know where you could get a pre-filled kr8 cartomizer with American eJuice.

Yeah, there are a lot of threads on here about juice. I got some cheaper Dekang (major Chinese brand) to try it out...some like it - I despise it.

I am going to try some stuff from Backwoods Brew next...

Also, I can refill a carto in maybe 7 seconds using the condom method. However, if you have auto batteries, the drip method is probably a better idea as you don't want to get juice into the battery hole... If you have manual...then not really an issue.

It does take a little bit of time for a new carto to get "broken in". I prefer the taste of my KR8s over my eGo. V4L has quite a few menthol flavors. I don't like menthol so I can't tell if they are any good or not. I also fill my own cartos because I make my own juice. I would suggest trying a few different flavors from different vendors. Finding what suits you best is kind of a trial but worth it in the end. Best of luck.
