Due to the search here being so... "limiting" I am unable to search for terms such as '"premium cart" 6v' without the single quotes (since nobody really puts "6 volt" just "6v" as it is understood here and 6v is too short).

I understand that the premium carts are FAUX HV, or mimic HV.

If I were to buy premium cartos, will they pop, or burn up at 6.0v?

And they will also run entirely too hot, and kill batteries uberfast. And may well put batteries into an over-current state that, depending upon the design, may be hazardous to the PV or PV user.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I do not recommend HV users go around using very low impedance cartomizers designed for low-voltage applications.

I was a 5 volt vaper, it was very rare that I would find a regular carto satisfying enough at 3.7 volts (even though you would get that occasional winner that performed like the premiums do). Since the premiums came out I've been able to happily switch back to 3.7 volts. I sold my Chuck and my Prodigy V1.

I still use premiums at 5 volts on my pass-thru and they are great, but 6 was too much for me. Even with regular cartos you had to take short pulls at 6 volts. Premium cartos at 6 volts just means a lot of vapor with a very short draw. For me it kind of took out some of the fun when I could only draw for 1 to 2 seconds in order to avoid burning up the filler. If a super short draw sounds good to you, go for it. I find cartomizers in general perform better and longer at any voltage than other atties.

What's the worst that will happen? You'll kill a couple $2 cartos finding out how well they hold up under 6 volts. Better than killing $7 to $10 atties that don't perform as well anyway.

Some may say you are going to blow yourself up. But with the Tenergy LiFePO4's you are probably using you really don't have to worry about that. Even with PROTECTED L-Ion you really aren't at risk. If you are using unprotected batts you risk blowing up regardless of your atty.

CRAP! I have a second Prodigy V2 (since just the adapters are unavailable right now) on the way... 6v only as far as I know.

Crap, AGAIN!

I thought the whole point of Prodigy was that it was 5 volts standard, 6 volts required an extra switch that doesn't regulate voltage - am I wrong about that? That's the way it was with the V1 anyway.

Yeah, did you see Leaford tease it in his video about the Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Mod? It was in the geek thread. He teased us...said something like "Oh, we're working on the VK1 and...well this video isn't about that [SUCKAS]...this video is about my rad new Sonic Screwdriver mod!"

It was something like that anyway, the quote isn't exactly verbatim. Funny stuff.

Incidentally:

Google indexes the forum frequently. You can search it like this:

site:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life my search terms here

Remembering Google's magic formatting, like + (must include) - (must not include) "[specific phrasing between quotes]", and then the advanced searching stuff, which I leave you to discover on your own... ;) The forum search doesn't go back all that far, I frequently rely upon Google Site Search.

I am used to that back when yahoo searches were "+chick +robot +donkey" for "robot chick donkey" or you would get any/or.

I just keep mentioning it, and hoping the search will be less limiting here if I mention it more, yet actually "worth using".

The + and - works good on eBay, and pricewatch now too.

FYI: I use regular cartos constantly on the 6v mod. I just let off of the "trigger" for a second every 2 or so while not stopping the mouth inhale, so to speak.

I didn't know about the Tenergy 3.0v when I got my chuck and had 2x 3.7v batts and popped my first carto I popped on the dang-thing (it was working fine at 3.7v WTF was I thinking)?!?!?

Anyone know of a SINGLE 3.7v that fits the Prodigy V2 solid?
(I am not a battery monkey, but becoming one.)

My 18650s for my CHUCK SURELY WILL NOT FIT. hehee
