Premo Carts DO NOT WORK on new Passthrough

I bought a USB wall plug 5V 2Amp. I have the new Manual Passthrough plugged into it...

If I screw on a new Premo (Watermelon, Sour Green Apple, or Coffee) onto it,
NOTHING! If I screw on an old cart, bammmm it works.

I've tried emailing V4L, I've tried forums, private messages. No Response, No Solution.

I'm not trying to be an ...., It's just frustrating that my Premo carts ONLY work on batteries. Do I just have a Dud Manual PT? It's the new one with the curly cord.

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG! (that's for searching for a 2 amp USB plug for 3 days, only to find out that wasn't the problem)

Very odd.....I have no problem at all with premium cartos on the V4L pass through. Can't begin to imagine what the problem might be if those premium cartos work on a battery but not a PT.

Is that a Manual PT or an Auto PT??

While I do not have this problem I have heard of people who have . . .

If I recall born said he had a problem screwing his premo (555 in this case) onto an adapter he had so he screwed it onto a regular battery a few times and then it fit on the adapter.

Perhaps the same will work for you and your PT

Hey Monkey Arms! Sorry to hear you're so frustrated. I can appreciate it, though. I had a faulty pass-through that just wouldn't work period. I contacted Val at V4L and she got me squared away in short order. In her email to me, she suggested that I go with a manual PT instead of the automatic I had originally ordered. She indicated that the manual version was more reliable and simply worked better. It showed up today and it works great. Have you tried plugging the pass-through into your computer or into a USB hub? I'm wondering if the adapter you have is causing the problem as opposed to the PT itself.

I have a similar problem also. I have several PTs. One my auto PTs don't work with most of my premium cartos, although it will work with some of them. It is really weird. Some of my premium cartos won't even screw onto my auto PT. My manual PTs all seem to work with premium cartos however.

Even weirder, I have a 3 Kensington USB packs, and one of them seems to work with ALL my cartos, but only works until it has lost one light on the power gage (meaning there are still 4 lights still lit up), and then it won't work anymore. One of my Kensingtons will work great with regular cartos, but not premium cartos -- won't work at all with them. The other only seems to work well with automatic PT.

LOL...given all that, getting all my stuff together to go to work for the day can be quite difficult -- making sure I have all the right things matched up so they'll work together harmoniously through the day.

I just chalk it up to the eCig industry still being in it's infancy. I figure these are the little problems that will work themselves out as the industry grows. Of course that would mean that our over-controlling gov't would have to stay OUT of it & not ban it. I guess I have little faith in that department. I honestly expect to see more & more states line up against us until we can no longer get our vaping fixes without a doc's prescription and a TON of money -- but I guess that is another issue...sorry.

Hey Monkey Arms....

I had a new style PT that also didn't work on premium carts. It was in a thread about a month or so ago. I speculated that it might be out of spec, and Leaford confirmed that his worked; he tested several on different USB ports and didn't have a problem. I had it replaced under warranty, and the replacement does indeed work with the premium cartos.

And now that it works, I'll tell you that I only like the premium cartos on battery power. They are designed to run hotter and it gives you a PT style experience when running on batteries. Problem is, if you apply more voltage, they run hotter still and in my experience this degrades the flavor. It also introduces the possibility of other potential issues. At the resistance the new Premium cartos have, you are pretty much running out of spec when you apply 5V. At this point, I only recommend using the standard cartos on higher voltage. Besides, the premiums really don't need it - they perform very well at 3.7.

I don't know about the auto pts, but I tried the soft end cap premiums and the hard end cap premiums on my new style manual pt attached to my laptop and no problems. It is working fine. I would talk to the guys at V4L because that doesn't sound right... Good luck!

No, the PT doesn't work with premos on my Laptop or my Wall Plug. But non premos work just fine...

Don't really have anything to add anyway. I use a Manual also and absolutely LOVE premium cartos on it. I don't have any problems with flavor. Something seems to be wrong with that Pass Through.

This may not be related, and I don't know much about USB current, but would the very old, original USB computer ports actually not be able to provide as much electrical current as the newer USB ports ?

Don't you just hate a cliff hanger? I got started watching 24 when my brother brought the first 3 seasons on dvd back with him from a trip to China. We watched 3-5 episodes a night until we got through it all. 24 is much better when you can watch it back to back!

Definitely Not on a Mac, or a Wall Adapter. Premos only work on my XL Manual Batteries.

My new manual passthrough has yet to have a cart not work with it. However, it doesn't work consistently with my kensiington, especially with premium cartos. My (nearly blind) guess is that the premiums on the manual draw too much power and the battery pack's protection is kicking in.
