Auto USB Passthrough Dead

Hey everyone. My auto USB passthrough died after a week or so of working on and off. I've tried different cartomizers, cleaned it completely, plugged it in to multiple USB ports, etc. I decided to use the auto passthrough because I've gone through two manuals before this and the button mechanism seems pretty weak (always breaks). Does anyone get more than three months out of these things? I wish I could get one that had better longevity.

Iconoclastic (sir or Ms.?) my first pt was a manual and lasted for a little over 6 months, current one is a few months old no issues. Have a few questions, have you been overfilling the cartos or using the condom refilling method? Did you ever have juice residue on your fingers when you were using the manuals? Juice can kill a button the same way as an auto switch can be.... The good thing is if it's only a week old you can fill out a cs ticket and should be able to get a replacement.

I have/had 3 pass thrus. One died after a few months, my wife's is flaky, and my latest one (knock on wood) is doing ok. It's not the switches because I've had them open and tested with a volt meter. It's the wire where it comes out of the tube. It will "work" if you hold the wire juuuust right. Neither was even remotely abused, kinked, or excessively bent. I haven't torn the wire open, but given its stiffness, I think it's solid core instead of stranded wire which sadly means it breaks too easily. One of these weekends I'll try splicing a thin & flexible usb cable onto the flaky pass thru....

Sorry, I wasn't clear; I've had this passthrough for about three months, but it started acting up about a week ago. I believe I've isolated the problem, and cryx is spot-on: the section where the wire connects to the body of the passthrough has a short (I think). If I hold it just perfectly it will work. Otherwise it's a no-go. I'm considering buying a new one, but having been burned three times by less than stellar passthrough longevity, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I saw in the reviews that someone mentioned a place selling passthroughs with a 1 year warranty. Anyone have an idea of where that might be?
